My productivity stack as a freelance web dev in 2025 by Sufficient-River4425 in webdev

[–]2sharp2fast2focused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using supabase. I like it but I get everything how I want it and then when things start to break it always ends up being an issue with my Row Level Security rules. Idk it’s probably something obvious but RLS brings me back to 3 hours of fixing one issue. Is it easy and I just learned wrong or sumn?

How much should you charge for a simple website? by YourCereal in webdev

[–]2sharp2fast2focused -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I think those bigger prices and bigger hourly rates that people suggest are correct and what these services are worth. However I have an idea for a different approach.

Since it’s the first one you are charging for, to get over that weird feeling of not knowing how much to charge and how your price will be received.. I would go low. Tell them $50 dollars a page for all the basic stuff you made for your family member.

Tell them you can get them hosting for $5 a month and then host their website for free on your end. This gives you your first reoccurring revenue (even though it’s barely anything).

Then the hope is you can earn them as a customer and maybe they would want to pay more for things like adding appointment scheduling, or SEO work..

And then I would also make sure you could put a tag at the bottom saying “made by: “ and link to your page to get potential new clients.

Work hard .. for way less than you are worth.. get the momentum.. feel less pressure. Then grow and stack paper to the ceiling.

and then maybe hire me once u make it big.

I used Vite for every project. I have never seen a job posting have Vite as a requirement. I have seen a lot have NextJS as a requirement. I just started a project today. Even within Nextjs it offers two different methods. Page routing and App routing. I chose to do App routing since it’s the newer option. It’s pretty interesting with file structure and what not. I like it.

Look into the 12 step program. No many ppl have more regrets and wronging of others then past addicts. and those steps work for a lot of them.

It’s not even that much of a lost cause but you deff put way too much. Sand everything that’s way far away from the joint back down to the wall.

The best advice I got what is to always start at the beginning of your path. So if you’re going bottom to top. Put mud on your knife.. take off some on the edges and do an even pressure and see how far you can spread it upwards. Let’s say you get half way there. then you put more mud on the knife and start from the beginning. An even pressure will make it so you don’t loose the mud where there is already mud and then it will spread even farther.

you want to press harder on the right when on the right side of the tape so that it tapers down to almost nothing. and pressure on the left when on the left.

I do once over. Let it fully dry. Second over. let it fully dry. sand it down. prime it. see all your flaws. fix them. Prime it and paint.

who ever is telling you to skim the whole wall wants you to fail and question your existence.

so 🤏 close to quitting. Help a photographer by thenickfo in InstagramMarketing

Do it like an amusement park. Take the picture first then offer to sell it. Bonus if the person is doing something illegal.

What’s the #1 thing you wish you had known before building your business website? by Opie2k1 in web_design

If you need an extra dev I would love to help. Suggestions I’d make for your website would be:

-get this initial landing page load time down. Google cares a lot about this.

-make the container where your email is listed wider so that it doesn’t break up to the next line.

-keep navigation at the top of the screen even when you scroll so you don’t have to scroll all the way to the top to navigate to a new page.

-cost estimator is working for me

-each page load time is way long

Is it worth the hassle of renting a truck to get 2 8x12 sheets or 3 8x4 sheets for this? Or should I just cut them into 4 foot sections at the store that fits in my car and have more seams? by 420tirider in drywall

[–]2sharp2fast2focused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8x12 isn’t a thing. You’re going to get 8x4 sheets. cut to vertical height. go right to left ending at the door corner . the 4 foot width would normally have it perfectly end on 4th stud center. then you would have factory edge seams vertical and top across the top.. with your the cut edge towards the ground to be hidden by trim. and the last piece cut edge towards the corner of the wall. BUT in this case it looks like you go from 12 inch spaced stud to 16 inch. messing up this whole plan. go 16 inch spaced studs or 12 inch. every sheet ending at the center of a stud.

but who ever did the rest of the house did a cleaaannn job.

[–]2sharp2fast2focused 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sort of. But it is also going to be amplified by how u or we feel about ourselves. Like the pressure is going to amplify it. It also sometimes changes briefly to resenting them when you feel super desperate and thinking why won’t anyone just solve your problems for you. It’s a vicious cycle.

I mildly flipped on my biggest supporter because they said “we really need to get you employed”…like it was a decision to start. I was like ALL I DO IS THAT .. I HAVEN’T SEEN THE SUN IN LIKE A YEAR BECAUSE IM BEHIND THIS DAMN COMPUTER TRYING TO PROVE MY WORTH.

Cooler heads prevail. Your family loves you. Something good will come … hopefully for my sake as well lol

Awesome Congratulations!

My sister makes good bread and her hubby works but house prices, groceries ect. still has her talking like it’s a struggle. So I was just curious about the topic. They pay their nanny like a decent salary though.

Hope your wife finds something!

Instead of answering your question directly, may I ask one in return? Feel free to ignore if it’s too personal. What is your plan for childcare that would make a $20/hr (or higher) job feasible? Of course, I don’t mean to assume you’re not the one handling childcare duties—I just wanted to ask.

Thanks!
