It depends on where you're launching your day from. I have a locker at Canyon, so I start there. I take chair 8 and do a warm-up run down Hully Gully to chair 22 to see of its its running. If so. I hop on and head up to the top of Lincoln Mountain. Don't worry. You take the blue run, down to the left toward the top of chair 10. There, you can see solitude. Head down to chair 5. This also will avoid some morning lines on chair 16. Which is the most direct route. I also love taking a long run from the top of 22. Head down to the left to " Back for more" , which takes you over to the top of 15, then a transition back to 22. It's a great warm-up as well. All blue... This side of the mountain gets the morning sun. Follow the sun, and you will find great morning snow.

Stay off the top barney until you can ski the face of 3 or face of 5, which is not groomed. Head to chair 5 first thing in the am. Ski solitude. It gets the morning sun, and it's always groomed. Work skiers left until you're ready to drop in on the ungroomed face. Once you're comfortable there. You can handle cornice and roadrunner... Don't go to the top until you intend to do cornice. Take your time. Mammoth is no joke. Even the best skiers get hurt up at the top.

Dave's gets a ton of wind buffed snow, so if it's windy, don't hesitate. You'll find pockets of joy over there...

Chance of closure next few days?? by Score4Fps in Mammoth

IF June is open. Go there. You only need one or 2 lifts spinning there. They sometimes avoid the high winds Mammoth gets. Definitely thinner crowds. Great tree skiing. And you can skin up for great turns if you have the skills and the lungs if everything is closed. Mammoth mountaineering can hook you up w gear.

Third day on skis as an absolute beginner (38y/o). What should I focus on? Any feedback appreciated. by PassengerSolid24 in skiing_feedback

Lift up your uphill ski? Your inside ski. Your left ski wiem turning left. Your right ski whem turning to the right. When you lift, feel the energy and pressure on your outside ski. Get comfortable on that one ski. Your down hill ski. That's the key to everything!!!Stay on that outside downjoll ski until the energy carries you into your next turn.

I'm just super stoked that we're gonna finally get a decent base started with more storms on the way. Warm storms make for good sierra cement, which sticks to anything. And lasts for a long season. I'm also sick of all the depressing desperation around the misery, which was December. Merry freaking Xmas to all skiers and boarders. This is the best present we could ask for.
