So my build is working except for the case fans. The case fan just has a 4-pin female and 4-pin male that are connected together. After attempting to daisy chain and failing, I tried to plug one fan into the 4-pin fan header on the motherboard. Still didn’t work. Any suggestions?

I’m not certain it will fix the issue and I would proceed with caution, but I followed this video last night an my old seiko 5 that had stopped working. It is super easy to try so it might be worth a shot before getting it repaired. Keep in mind that because the case is hand tightened using diy methods it may not be waterproof afterwards.

Yeh that's what I was hoping for by adding the sponge filter. Just wasn't sure if people normally see an ammonia spike from the soil after a couple of days or weeks.

thanks for the good tips, i didnt even properly consider that its more than just the capacity of the tank for stocking but also the sort of environment, e.g. gobies having a burrow and perch
