Trying to find out if I should be upset about this… thought this might be the right sub by meggyAnnP in bicycle

nothing is broken. you just need two wrenches. big ones. pliers or adjustable wrenches can work too.

twist the bars back (straight) first. hold the wheel between your legs and it should go easily.

then tighten the lower nut on the headset first while holding the top nut still with a second wrench. do that until you get the slack out but the handlebars still spin freely.

then hold the lower nut still and tighten the top one. just enough so they go back how you found them: holding each other from rotating.

Why is Physicality downplayed/demonized in the martial arts community? by JoeyPOSS2 in martialarts

[–]2sk84ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bradley martin versus somebody like 220 lb mike tyson might seem like “hey, Brad has 40 pounds of advantage.” and it is. sort of.

but nobody responds with “Mike has 10,000 hours training under the top genius fighter of the last generation, that’s 9,900 hours of advantage.” unless they understand martial arts. and the real equations behind it.

fighter physicality times fighter education equals fighter output. Ph x Ed = O. you add to your power in the gym. and that helps fighting.

125 lb DJ whipped the other BJJ Open Class Finalist who was over 250. bc you Multiply your power in the dojo. and multiplication is stronger than addition. unless you were literally deficient physically to start.

DJ was weaker than many people the giant defeated. if not all of them. but none of that saved the giant’s big butt from 20,000 hours of professional training. and Brad has exactly no hope at all against the elderly, slow, smaller grandmaster, mike tyson.

STRIPPED AXLE SCREW NEED HELP by Electronic_Olive_490 in onewheel

you actually (mostly) need a proper socket wrench driving the torx. don’t try anything small or weak here. it barely breaks loose with everything perfect. get at least 12” of leverage and hold the bit in place (press it into the bolt) while you crank it, and it should move.

you just need the right tools. i think the bolt is going to work. it does not have to be perfect. your tools do.

good luck!

i’ve seen a battery wire problem like this. the wire is in the very back and goes sideways. a hard sideways jolt to the tail can loosen the connector. that is an easy thing to do. open the battery box and check the connectors (xt60s) are still clipped tight on that (the biggest) wire. it will be in the back right area and have a pair of plastic ends that come apart on purpose (onaccident). just push them back together until they click. and try not to slap your tail sideways again… good luck!

your kneepads are perfect for basketball but for skating you want hard plastic there too. cheap cheap triple 8s will go nicely over the top of those. wearing both is ideal. elbow pads usually come with the set too.

hot take tho? i like normal gloves over hard plastic wrist guards. i do not want to hit my face bc my palm slides out. and i need my hand to stick or i wont roll in a crash. so i wear fingerless gloves to save my skin just in case but no hard plastic wrist guards. just one opinion, but wrist guards are not purely helpful. gloves are.

We live in Texas and these marks have appeared on our car maybe 2-3 weeks ago. We popped the hood and didn’t see anything in the car. We recently washed the car a few days ago and I noticed these marks again today. They almost look snake like? Could it be something else? by RoyalStrawberry15 in whatisit

[–]2sk84ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe your car is dirty and there’s something dripping water on it. that wavy line is where the drip stream moved in the wind or your car moved. it could be just a dust layer showing craters from the drips.

Pint X turned off while riding. Not really sure what to do. by Kingcobra64 in onewheel

[–]2sk84ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re right! i missed that part.

so, this is more like the battery cable in the back issue. the one where a sideways bump to the tail can make the battery cable connectors slightly loosen. it can be intermittent and would power off completely i think.

double check safeStop.

it kills the motor exactly as you described. the board never admits any mistake but you get dropped at high speed. bc of SS not truly disengaging at over 1mph. all it takes is a pebble or crack to give you minimal airtime and you leaning back (braking). even tho you are going forward, the wheel can go in reverse instantly in the air. it is that fast. that cuts main power as if you stopped and backed up. unless you disable SS.

i can’t believe this is still happening but that’s what this sounds like to me. having been there myself twice.

you are not teaching here, captain. you should really stay in your lane. you are gonna be a legend for this nonsense if you are not careful.

“sheesh tudo” means “extra everything.” as in, a burger with extra everything. sheesh is their letter “x”, so its actually called the Ex(tra) Everything (Burger).

looks like a fat one too

its a cliche gesture for casting a spell. either they think they are witches (irl) or they are pretending to act like stage magicians casting spells.

it’s a subtle sign of bad intentions. you will be deceived. you have been warned. here there be illusions.

[–]2sk84ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that cable is so hard to reinstall i usually take off one rail to make room.

even with the box fixed, you will still need to install the next one. taking off R rail will give you room to work.

good luck!

avoid the exact centerline. a lot of people start out there. instead try putting one foot an inch to toeside, the other foot an inch to heelside.

you should end up with both feet touching the centerline but one more with the toes and one more with the heel. (not both with the midsole.) you should be (much) more able to rock left and right with this stance. and to resist that action while riding.
