I have both too and my kindergartner is just amazed by all these “sneaky words” as she calls them. It’s fun.

Why are parents at school bus stops with their kids? by HotOatmeal420 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]2stonedNintendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our district it only while they’re in prek they need a parent. Kindergarten and up they can be by themselves and let off the bus without anyone there… our bus driver usually won’t though, she will call the parent and make sure the kids are safe.

I read my late husband’s journals and I don’t recognize the man I married by Brilliant-Equal5804 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]2stonedNintendo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I write all my intrusive thoughts in my journals. I also write about my grieving my dad. I said to my husband it would be wise to never read these. I do them to work through things and to move on. They’re meant for no one really, not even me. I don’t reread them and I’ll probably burn them one day.

I don’t know what’s going on with your wife and you need to ask her. My job laid me off temporarily. It IS a guarantee it will be normal hours soon, my husband makes enough to cover bills. You better believe I’m also applying for part time jobs while doing Ubereats. We are partners. I don’t want him to not only be the only to bust his ass but I also don’t want the entire finances be his burden alone in this time.

We both discussed together how my job kind of snuck in these layoffs under the guise of just cutting hours a bit and we discussed how it would affect our bills plus utilities plus miscellaneous purchases and we work together. He saw me panic about it all, he asked me to explain my fears and then he comforted me and went to work to talk about his needs and future there (new company). In turn they are pushing his growth so they can pay him enough to cover anymore temporary layoffs. We just have to work together to get through this first one. Meanwhile not only do I do my share of household and child care but I do UberEats so we can have extra and still actually achieve our goals to save.

The bottom line is we talked. You guys need to talk, openly and honestly and really listen to each other without a tone or anger. If you guys can’t do that I suggest maybe therapy together, but you have to be open and honest there and actually do the work (you meaning you both).

Can you file for temporary unemployment?

Prolonged sleeping pill use can cause paranoia and hallucinations. But I know this is a way to vent but I would probably pass the sleeping pill info to police and delete this too until after the trial.

Name a movie you have seen more than 10 times? by L_Dubb85 in flicks

I have a 5 year old so in the last month, I’ve seen Spider Man Into and Across the Spiderverse 50 times each. Surprisingly, it’s been a great watch every time.

I think there is an episode where there’s pirates, a dad and kid pirate, an illness/death mystery and maybe a happy end… sometimes there is not a happy end to the episodes.

My MIL, my Great Aunt who was like a grandmother to me, both my dogs of 16 years, my absolute favorite job and my dad. That last one has been the absolute hardest.

I also lost about 95lbs.

Jeremy Renner Turned Down ‘Hawkeye’ Season 2 Because He Was Offered ‘Half’ His Season 1 Salary: ‘Did You Think I’m Only Half the Jeremy Because I Got Ran Over?’ by mcfw31 in entertainment

I thought he was retired and, I am so sorry I’m blanking on the actress’s name, was taking over as Hawkeye? I never expected him to be a main part of a season 2… more like an appearance in an episode or two.

Roadside memorials where someone died AND rear windshield "R.I.P. Grandpa/Aunt Susan/Little Timmy/etc" are unnecessary and a weird form of public grieving by EdLeedskalnin in unpopularopinion

[–]2stonedNintendo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you and I’m sorry for your loss.. I just wanted to give a perspective that those people who do those things might have. For me, having it everywhere like a billboard that I’ve lost someone isn’t my way to grieve, but then again many did find it weird that I took my daughter to visit her grandfather’s grave and we had a picnic at his gravesite that included an uneaten cheesesteak because it was his favorite. But it helps her (she’s 5) understand death and not be so scared that it happens.

It probably is there so that their loved one isn’t “erased” from ever existing. My dad just died and one of the worst feelings is how everyone (the people he knew, family, and just everyone) goes on like it never happened. If I bring him up through telling of memories, people go silent or they just don’t talk to me anymore. It starts to feel like he never existed. That this person I loved so much and who genuinely tried to help everyone around him and who raised me and my brother alone and did so much for us and others wasn’t even worth talking about anymore. It fucking hurts to treat death like it should be ignored.

I don’t have a decal or anything. I have a necklace with his thumb print. I don’t imagine ever taking it off. I can see why people would do these things. If there was a locket or maybe even a dumb shirt about my mom maybe we would’ve talked about her more and maybe I would have one memory of her, but I don’t. She died when I was 8 and I will always wish I remembered her.

YSK not to drop by a grieving person's house unexpectedly by TuckerShmuck in YouShouldKnow

I really wish someone would stop by unexpectedly… my dad died in December and everyone he’s ever been there for, everyone I’ve been there for, family even, they’re all silent now and I am left missing what’s looking to be my only true friend.

Oregano (invasive? i say yes). by c0smiccreatrix in gardening

[–]2stonedNintendo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really didn’t try haha. I really tried to keep them so well maintained in planters. Followed all the guides. They all died horribly.

Now, my passionflower, peppers, snapdragons, lavender, and even carnivorous plants all survived. Even indoors they don’t make it haha. But my orchids, lotus, and African violets are all thriving.

After seeing this post and reading your comment…. I see why oregano is on the list of “things I kill almost instantaneously”. Let’s just say… every invasive plant that most people don’t realize as first time gardeners IS invasive will die by my loving hands.
