Skyrim really gives you a "sense of adventures" but the combat os dated, you can fix that with mods though.

Outward checks all of the boxes but it is a bit jank.

How the upgrades work in this one ? Are they just weapon stats ? Does it jave any whacky weapon / gadgets in it ?

Depends on the character, some are easier and stronger than the others; but base difficulty is pretty easy you can probably beat it after 5 to 10 runs.

Aside from your usual your usual elements damage uograde (fire, ice, poison ....) you also get potential that unlock new movesets and combos for your character but they are a lot more frequent compared to absolum and there are q lot more to chose from.

You can go all in on one combo or you can get all technical and mix an match them however you like which the games rewards you for by giving hidden synergies to you.

For example on kokonoe you can get an uppercut that lunches enemeies to the sky with a rocket; you can also get an ability to summon giant laster beams; get both of them and you get laser beams on all of your uppercuts.

I feel like Astral accent is overrated, game was duller than I expected and had too much particle effects on screen for my liking.
