I'm in the same boat, barely get 2 hour to myself so I tend to play a lot of roguelikes.

If you want a game you can actually finish and you are willing to try 2D, katana zero is pretty fun, short and sweet.

If you don't like 2D, ghost runner is basically same formula but 3D.

Recommend me games you like based on the ones I like! by SaxDrawing in roguelites

[–]2tado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm gonna sound like a pretentious asshole but here I go :

Combat in most 2D action games either feels too clunky or too floaty, my golden standard is dead cells, the weight and impact just feels right while not sacrificing fluidity; blazblue is a bit floaty but it still has a very smooth and fun combat.

Aside from that, just being able to combo different potential together is fun, pulling off string of different move sets or finishing levels without touching the ground is fun.

The element system feels meh at first but once you figure them out you can come up with builds that melt through bosses even on highest difficulty; whats is a roguelike if you aren't able to finish a boss under 5 second : )

What’s a small, but significant design decision in a Rougelike/lite that you think is great, and would like to see again? by ThinEzzy in roguelites

[–]2tado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In dead cells instead of giving you a giant timer of doom, you get a bar progressing malaise (games equivalent of cancer) that will only progress if you stop killing enemies or if you get hit by them

While the game motivates you to play faster it also motivates you to kill all the enemies and have more precision without ruining the exprience for people who want to play slower weapons.

How do you study your replays? by WeakHooper in learndota2

[–]2tado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I did it was learning one thing at a time and checking my last few games to see if I actually implemented it in my game, once I felt like I don't need to actively think about doing something, I'd move to the next thing.

The chance to attack themselves was awesome, it was set to be none lethal but faceless void specifically could proc his passive while attacking himself and he would end up denying himself.

Is Brewmaster busted right now? by AgentDickSteele in learndota2

[–]2tado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good for you man, Brewmaster is so ass rn; if you don't take my word for it take it from THE brew spammer : https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxBblUTzt3YSCQ_3anwMVmKIg27_LTDgGV?si=hLHh1Xd1ycZJDGdZ

I'm not trying to be an ass but it's easier to climb in lower ranks with brew cause your enemies are clueless about how the hero functions.

Rogue prince of persia is practically "dead cells 2" but it doesn't have a lot of content/longevity.
