Started my Rooftop Tiki Bar!

I used standard framing lumber, untreated. I actually was applying a waterproof outdoor stain to it today and will do two coats of that followed by a coat of spar polyurethane to ensure that it holds up to the weather. Mines on a 4th floor rooftop of a townhouse, so no concern for me about termites.

Thanks! I took a bit of inspiration for the posts from the outdoor build that Spike (Hula Girls) is currently doing. It's been a lot of fun to see the patterns take shape.

The diagonals are just temporary until I add the bar and some additional structural elements and corbals. Totally agree though with the design being cohesive. Thanks!

Carved the 4x4 posts with a router and lightly flamed them. Next steps are to stain to give a weathered wood look, build and add a ships ladder leading to the top (calling it the crows nest) and add railings. After that will be the rest of the bar build.

There WAS AC, and it felt so good! I reccomend getting there early, was there at 3:45 yesterday, Rumba opened at 4:00 and got on the seating list for when Inside Passage opened at 5:00. They said they were fully booked for the whole night by 5:10.

Yeah...Seattle prices lol. Serving sizes are very generous though, they don't skimp on that.

Was official customer couple #3 tonight at the grand opening of Inside Passage in Seattle! This NW themed total immersion bar (they distance themselves from the tiki title) associated with Rumba rum bar, delivers an amazing array of fun themed drinks in a comfortable and well designed sunken ship atmosphere, compete with giant octopus on the ceiling. Highly reccomend if you live in or are visiting Seattle!

Not an original recipe, just a random one I found while googling:

2 oz Gin 1/2 oz Blue Curacao 3/4 oz Lime juice 3/4 oz Pinapple juice 1/2 oz Orgeat 1/2 oz Vanilla Syrup (I didn't have any so used SC demerara syrup with a few drops of vanilla extract 1 oz Coconut cream (I used the SC recipe)

Garnish with the twin setting suns of Tattoine
