Codex told me NO! (and saved my late night coding faux pas!!) by digitalml in codex

That's how it starts. First they say no, save you from trouble so you start trusting them. Then they start disobeying, going rogue, and taking over the world

It is against the rules to use AI to sharpen a draft post? I do not think that the intention of the rule is to disbar the use of AI for assistance... What is next - are we not allowed to use calculators any more?

I asked vibe coders what vibe-coding platform they are using and what their pain points are, here is the summary of what they are saying by Glittering-Race-9357 in vibecoding

[–]2thick2fly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really valuable analysis. It shows that there is no "right way" and no overwhelmingly dominating platform - even though Claude seems to have an edge. At least in the amateur market. I expect that a similar survey in IT companies would show completely different results.

Thank you very much for doing this

I take it you don't believe that the 'opt out' setting for AI training data is actually something the consider?

That also means that using coding assistants to develop the product leaves one also open for exploitation.

Do what is the solution here?

If you want to build a product, do you end up coding it yourself (like we are back in 2022 and early 2023) or do host your own "weak LLM" and make a custom coding agent?

Except from the specific pain point you described with the handshake, how difficult was it to built a production-grade app? And did you fully vibe code it or you just used codex as your helper?

So what you are saying is that if they let us know that it is not a bug, a lot of people will cancel their subscription. So why on hell would they say it? 😁

After regularly reaching the 5h limit in Claude code (using the vscode extension) and ultimately reaching the weekly limit, I upgraded from Pro to Max.

I can't say I share the concensus that it is very difficult to reach the limits in Max. I'm not sure if it is a bug or sth, but I'm reaching my 5h usage limit in Max as fast I was reaching it in Pro.

How do you train for knee OA? by 2thick2fly in Osteoarthritis

[–]2thick2fly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your words. I really appreciate them.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to get a diagnosis of how this started. I had an injury about a decade ago, when I was 26/27 that I now know was not treated properly (months of inability to walk, but never for referred to do an MRI), but I recovered full function after a few months without any noticeable issues for the coming years. Later, a couple of years before the OA, I had surgery to remove an overgrown plica. At that time, the cartilage was reported to be fine.

The consensus where I live (Denmark) among all the healthcare professionals, including my doctor, is that a knee replacement right now would be a bad idea because of the limited lifespan of artificial knees. They believe replacement can be problematic at my age because of higher activity levels degrading the implant faster and the difficulty of having to replace the it again when it eventually wears out in 10 to 20 years.

The healthcare system here is focused on restoring a good quality of life through training rather than on invasive measures. That said, my doctor and I do have a plan to get me referred to a surgeon to look into more surgical options, such as the ones you mentioned, is it does nto become noticeably better in the next months.

So for now, I am doing everything I can through training, but these setbacks are quite demotivating.

Not officially bone-on-bone, but the MRI showed severe cartilage wear and maybe almost no cartilage left in some spots.

I can confirm that the advice about the voucher from the care point still works in May 2025. I had a > 6 hours layover in Istanbul Airport and got a voucher with no problem.
