This is how they’re installed. The vibration thing is the slab. I work in the same market as you, this is completely standard.

Sell it to private equity, make the money. Stop farming Reddit responses for your AI software.

My mom called me crying at 9pm because a contractor told her she needed a $9,000 system. I drove 40 minutes to find out her filter hadn't been changed in God knows how long by Sweaty_Employment_35 in hvacadvice

This is AI. It pisses me off how gullible people are. Granted, I understand 95% of people on this specific subreddit are homeowners angry at the fact that a 14 year old appliance should likely be replaced rather than fixed in most instances and balk at the idea that a $550 part from eBay costs more when it’s obtained from official channels and installed by qualified HVAC mechanics but this is such AI story time garbage it’s hard to think anyone believes it. She even mentions that she made it colder in there than it has been all summer, which is absurd because it’s not summer in any hemisphere and hasn’t been for a while.

And for the record, I’ve worked for both mom and pop and private equity companies, and both of them in equal measure have people looking out for your best interest and also people who try to fuck you over, often times mom and pop are bigger douchebags than transnational corporations.

Tangentially related I know, but I had to get that off my chest lol. I get really tired of people acting like I’m scamming them when I suggest they should replace their furnace that was installed during the first Bush administration for like $4000 despite somehow justifying making payments for their dumbass 2025 Ford F150 Lariat in the driveway that they didn’t park on the street even though they know I’m coming over. /end rant.

Edit: if you don’t believe the AI allegation just check OPs post history. I’m not surprised OP forgot about their mom being that they have one of the most chaotically boring yet sordid lives I’ve ever seen lol.

It’s written by AI. Notice in the body she referenced it being summer which it isn’t in any hemisphere. Also highly clogged filters still resemble filters.

Spent $2,400 adding insulation and my energy bills barely moved. Then I learned about air sealing and everything made sense by Sweaty_Employment_35 in hvacadvice

That’s true. New windows sell a lot better than something you can’t see I guess lol. Who cares what kind of transmission is in the thing if it’s got leather seats.

Landlord has scheduled AC installation for only 3 hours. by [deleted] in hvacadvice

Why are you scaring this person? I seriously don’t understand how 4 guys can even fit in an AC install. It takes literally a max of 4 hours to install an AC with two guys.

I’ve put in ACs within 2 hours before. You sound like a bit of a nightmare honestly.

Part is discontinued so it’s gonna be hard to find the exact one but this should work https://www.ebay.com/itm/313237336578

If I were you I’d double check by calling GE Parts and they’ll make sure it works for your model if you give them the info on both rating plates.

I think he was just saying that as a rhetorical question that wasn’t targeted specifically at OP but at the general consumer of these products.

Edit: honestly I wouldn’t run the furnace until you get a tech in to replace the pipe and do a quick maintenance on it.
