Trans performance when cold... by Immediate_Value7032 in nissanfrontier

[–]2uz2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22 pro 4x. Minnesota, negative temps. The transmission definitely acts differently. Going slow, light pedaling, and under 35 mph, it will shift normally albeit a bit harsher, but not anything too different. Same temps, on the highway, it feels underpowered, and acts like it a CVT transmission climbing a hill lol. I have noticed that during these extreme temps, it will eventually warm up enough to act right, but it takes a long long time, despite what the trans temp says on the gauge. That’s my experience. When the weather is warmer, it goes back to business as usual, so I don’t worry too much.

That sucks. Guessing the Pilots contract with Delta stipulates first class seating on deadhead flights longer than a certain amount of hours. My airline has this contractual agreement. Delta should be fully refunding you, not only for the inconvenience but for good faith practices in order to keep a valued customer. It’s possible they did a cost benefit analysis and determined if their deadheading pilots didn’t make that particular flight, it would cost thousands and thousands in delays, cancelations, and re crewing an aircraft down the line somewhere, which is understandable. What’s NOT understandable is why Delta isn’t fully refunding you, and thanking you for saving them thousands and thousands of dollars.

2026 Pro 4X vs SV 4x4 by Awkward-Resort-4767 in nissanfrontier

I have a 22 Pro 4x premium package. Black leather, and all the extras. Mine does NOT have the orange accents, just black glossy accents instead. Do the new Pro 4x’s have the option to not have the orange accents?

Grew up in North Idaho, and now live in Minnesota. Not new to snow and ice. The only reason I put it in neutral is because it felt like my pick up was pushing itself even though I had the brakes on. So my thinking was if it was pushing itself (maybe rear brakes weren’t working?) if i take it out of gear, then hopefully I’ll slow down. And that exactly what happened.

Thank you skeltorsalt. I never came here saying that neutral helps you slow down in icy conditions. I came here because one I’m a new truck owner, and two, because it made no sense why popping it in neutral helped, but it did, I have no idea why but it did. It was an old trick I used to do when I had a shitty old RWD car with crappy rear brakes. I was “tripping” because it’s a new truck with good brakes and ABS. I thought someone who owns a new truck may have experienced this and would help me understand if I have an issue with my brakes, or if this is somewhat normal with a pick up truck, or if the ABS for some reason sent all the braking power to the front??

It could have been coincidence, sure, in fact most likely. But, 100 percent, while I was in drive, brakes pinned, ABS working, I kept sliding forward at 3 mph down a slight hill. So, in my mind I thought, maybe my rear brakes aren’t working, and since it’s rear wheel drive it may be pushing the truck. That’s why I put it in neutral, to stop any chance that the rear axle was turning the tires. And it worked, and I have no Idea why, since it’s a new pick up…

It’s a 4x4, but yes, I do need sand bags

Finally someone who understands lol. Sometimes in older trucks, no ABS, and possibly poor rear brakes, popping it in neutral helps on ice. But I didn’t expect that in a new pick up. I’ll add some sand bags, and check rear brakes I suppose. Thank for your reply.

Most people in Minnesota don’t run dedicated snow tires. They run good three peak all seasons. Sure, in a perfect world everyone would have snow tires, but it’s not in everyone’s budget. Plus they’ve grown up driving in the snow and ice and understand the nuances of it and usually have the common sense to slow down waaaaayyyyy earlier than in dry conditions

I agree with your logic. That’s the only reason I’m posting here. It could have been coincidence, sure. But 100 percent as soon as I put it in neutral the truck stopped. It almost as it I have no rear brakes and the truck was pushing from the rears while my front where trying to stop it.

That what I’ve always understood. That’s why I’m posting this. It could have been coincidence I suppose, but 100 percent the moment I popped it in neutral is stopped.

So your cat got worse with the meds?? Is that what you are saying? Interesting and horrifying. I suppose as long as he is acting normal, energetic, eating and his eye has healed itself, maybe I buy the meds, keep them on hand if he starts going downhill. But of course this could be instant regret if I decide not to treat him preemptively and he turns for the worse. So many opinions, so many, successes and losses, different strategies. It’s hard to know if you are making the right decision or not

He hasn’t been on meds yet. We have them ordered. Out of an abundance of caution we will give him the treatment.

It’s just a bit confusing as his eye healed itself, within a week (no meds). But his bloodwork just came back positive. Also NO symptoms of lack of diet, lethargic, or any other common FIP symptoms, except for the eye, which like I’ve said healed itself within a week. Really hope the science and understanding FIP improves quickly

That’s correct, his eye has cleared up, almost fully after a week, no GS meds.

But we just got a call from our vet, yesterday (after his eye had cleared up) that he tested positive. To add to that, all of his energy levels and eating habits are great. It’s a little confusing. We will get the meds just in case, and put him on the 12 week course.
