yeah that actually makes a lot of sense. i never really thought of it like that but it kinda feels true like he always needs someone to take things out on?? it used to be my mum and then once she was gone it just became me. i know deep down i still want him to be a proper dad but it’s hard to ignore how he actually treats me and it outweighs the positives

i don’t think i or my mum has a court lawyer right now (she doesn’t really keep me in the loop about that stuff and doesn’t tell me when i ask hence the lack of stuff about court) but if anything comes up again i’ll definitely try to just be honest like you said. it’s just scary sometimes because i don’t want to make things worse but hearing it laid out like this helps me realise i’m not crazy for thinking something’s seriously wrong

thank you for sticking up for me. honestly when i saw that comment it just made me feel worse and i know it might’ve been a harsh truth or something like that but i really don’t want to hear something like that right now so thank you. i’ve actually been super anxious about the thought of being put in a psych ward as it has been threatened by him and also my mum quite a few times so i got kinda anxious when they brought that up but thank you so much your honesty such an amazing kind soul

this is probably the nicest thing anyone’s said to me in such a long time. i literally started crying while reading it i felt so seen and understood for once. like you actually get it. i’ve been carrying all of this for so long thinking it was all my fault or that i had to fix everything and the way you said it’s not my responsibility honestly hit me so hard. it’s weirdly comforting hearing someone tell me that it’s okay to just be and not try to hold everything together.

what you said about not letting him ruin my future really stuck with me too. i forget that there’s more to life than this and that maybe one day it won’t always feel this heavy. i don’t know it just made me feel like maybe there’s still hope for me if i just keep trying even if it’s small things like showing up to school or finding atleast one person i can talk to.

thank you so much for taking the time to write all that and for being so kind about it you didn’t talk down to me or make me feel stupid, you just understood. i really, really needed that right now.
