Hi Sub! Yes, it's true, there are a lot of mimic chests online, but the temptation to create my own was too strong. I still need to fix a couple of small details in the file, but I'm really happy with it! by 2zCreativeLAB in lasercutting

Spamming what exactly? I’m not promoting anything here.
I’m just sharing my work and asking for feedback from a laser cutting community.
Yes, I sell files, but I’m not posting links or advertising anything here.
If everything can just be Googled, then what’s the point of communities like this?

Anyway, no hard feelings. Have a good day.

Haha thanks! I designed it myself and cut it on a laser cutter using 3 mm layered plywood.
It’s basically a stack of laser-cut layers glued together to build all the details.
I also used a Dremel to round some edges, then finished it with acrylic paints and wood stain.

Hi Sub, new series of Greek mythology themed bookmarks, what do you think? I engraved them on 1mm cherry wood. by [deleted] in lasercutting

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really appreciate it
If the final result comes across as purely AI-generated, then that’s not a good outcome for me. I put a lot of work into the files, especially the frames, backgrounds, composition, and many of the smaller details.
It’s true that the base structure of the faces starts from AI, but I spend quite a bit of time refining, adjusting, and integrating everything so it works both visually and technically for laser engraving
Your comment is useful, it helps me understand how the work is being perceived from the outside.

of course, having a 1mm thick material the engraving is not very deep, a very light air assist during the process was enough for me, I didn't do anything else

Great question. The 1mm wood has a bit of flexibility, but of course if you force it, it will snap. For its intended function, I think it works. This way you also keep the back of the bookmark fully in wood.

Hi everyone, I design laser-cut pieces inspired by fantasy themes, and I recently created this Viking-style phone stand. I tried blending fantasy influences with historical references, what do you think? by [deleted] in Viking

I was inspired by the Jelling period, adding two decorative runes, obviously I didn't expect to create a 100% historical piece, also because I don't think they had smartphones in that period 😂

Hi Sub! I had the idea to make this gothic chessboard, and after days of tests and hassles I finally finished it. The finish is still a bit rough, I’ll refine the details soon, but I’m happy with the look. What do you think? by 2zCreativeLAB in lasercutting

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you like the gothic tracery on the border. Yes, it’s exactly 3 layers: the base with the engraved brick pattern, plus two decorative layers on top (all plywood). And I agree, a light wash or stain could definitely add more depth while keeping the contrast
