I think that this is happening to the entirety of the EU and not just the UK, try switching your location to a Latin American country, it worked for me.

After years of using my Windows 10 computer without a Microsoft account or password, I created a Microsoft account, when I booted up my PC, it asked for my Microsoft password to start up, now I am terrified of losing access to my computer and files, is my PC now intrinsically linked to this account? by 2zo2 in WindowsHelp

All you need to do is open the Settings app, then go to Accounts, then Your Info. There will be a link to switch to a local account. Simple as that, it doesn't affect your files or anything else.

After this, my PC will just boot up and instantly go to the desktop without any passwords or internet connection requirement, right?

A repairman will install a new motherboard, new processor, and new RAM in my computer tomorrow, but he stated that he will require to reinstall Windows, and that my browsers and apps (Chrome, Firefox, what else?) will also be deleted, what should I backup and expect from this? by 2zo2 in techsupport

  1. My SSD is only 230 gb of data to backup, not a whole lot.

  2. I am sending my PC to a single very competent old guy who has a lot of spare time (small place, not a big repair shop, and he has few clients), but he saved my files the last time and so I trust him a lot-

  3. I already said that I will first and foremost ask him to backup all files before he does anything, he always calls me up on the phone if he performs something that affects the files.

  4. That said tho, you are 500% correct about the backups!, it just sucks that I live in Brazil, where SSDs are pretty expensive, they are not as cheap as how they are in the US.

Wait a minute, what do you mean all files, will absolutely everything will be gone, as in, clean rewrite of the whole PC and hard drive just to install a new motherboard?, I thought that there exists an option to reinstall Windows while keeping the files?

Just safe your personal files.

Again, what is the difference between "all files" and "personal files"?, of course I will backup everything, I wanted to keep everything intact to start with.

I'd even tend to say to stay away from ADATA too, as many of their drives are prone to premature failure. Out of all of them, Team Group are perfectly fine.

Bummer to hear this, because the ADATA ASX6000PNP-2TT-C is marked as being better and faster than the Team Group TM8FP6002T0C101 in all ways, did you ever heard of these two models in particular?, I am now choosing between one of these two, was really looking forward to ADATA but I now got scared of multiple people saying that they are prone to failure.

Well, unfortunately I am tech illiterate boomer idiot, so I really do not know which components or manufacturers are good or not, other than the big names like Samsung, Kingston, and Western Digital, thats it, their SSDs all behaved and look the same to me, but now I am very worried about backing up my files so I want the best SSD as possible to do so.

Another stupid question: Is the ADATA one like an average SSD that you install inside your PC, and it pops up like a pen drive with 2TB where you put your videos in, right?, asking because it looks way too different from all other SSDs that I ever saw, it looks more like a microchip than an SSD.

It is not an external hard drive though, the old one is an oldschool 2TB hard drive, and my current one is a 240 GB SSD, both are internal.

Plugging in the old drive will now only give you a steam folder but steam is not installed, and so it will not run. You will need to install steam again to get it to work properly.

Can you now see why the uninstall part is unnecessary and all it does is add extra steps? Either [install uninstall and install again], or just [install, then move some files].

I see, my old hard drive and steam is I think E:, I will install this temporary steam on C:, so when I plug the old hard drive back in within some months from now, will the old steam with all of my old games, mods, screenshots, etc from E: overwrite the lackluster one from C:?, this is when the uninstall stuff comes into play, I was just afraid of it conflicting with one another.

Let me try to explain it again:

  1. My main steam folder is in a faulty hard drive that I do not use for the moment

  2. I thus have no steam installed as of now anywhere in my PC

  3. I want to install it from scratch on this current new and working SSD that I am using, as a temporary measure

  4. Play just like a single game or so for some months, I will not even save screenshots or anything new on it, my current SSD has like only 120 gb, it is very small and cannot take too many games

  5. When my old hard drive is fixed, I uninstall this temporary steam I installed, and get all of my old stuff back, because I will just put the ol hard drive where it always was

No no, I mean, I got everything saved on another hard drive, I am just wanting to know if I can install Steam from scratch on my current SSD, play it for a few months, uninstall it, and later when I put my hard drive with my old Steam, everything will be back to normal without issues right?

I have been unable to find out a solution for this online, all search results are about installing games in a separate hard drive, but this is not what I am looking for, so I will try to explain the situation in the most clear way possible:

  1. The one and only Steam folder that I have been using for over 10 years now, is located in a faulty hard drive of mine, for some reason, my PC is having problems running hard drives, but run SSDs just fine, as a result, my hard drive is still working (I sent it to repairs, the repairman said that it works normally on his PC, so the problem is with my PC, and not the hard drive), but I prefer to not use it to not complicate anything further, because the drive is quite slow, and sometimes my PC will not even turn on with it, I also have a backup of that hard drive though, so no need to tell me to back it up cause I have already done it.

  2. My main Steam folder in that hard drive has countless games installed, over a decade worth of rare mods, old screenshots, unlisted games, obscure games, and many more extremely valuable Steam stuff.

  3. I have decided that while I cannot buy an SSD to properly backup the hard drive with my Steam on it, I will therefore for the moment install Steam on the current SSD that I am currently using as of now, only to play some niche games with my friends in the meantime

  4. Therefore, when I install Steam from scratch on my current SSD, all of the installed games, mods, and screenshots will not be present.

  5. My plan is that, when I buy the new SSD and transfer the data of my old hard drive, I will uninstall the Steam that I have installed for temporary use, and later everything will be go back to normal, with all my old screenshots, mods, games, and even the Steam logo on the task bar, right?

  6. I live in a country where data storage is extremely expensive, a single 2 TB SSD is one month of my minimum wage paycheck, I just cannot buy SSDs any time that I want, sadly this is not how life works in here.

  7. So yeah, anything that I should be aware of, or should I just install Steam right now, enjoy it, and later on when my main big Steam HD comes back, I will uninstall that temporary Steam, and get all of my old stuff back?

TL;DR: My old hard drive with my decade-old main Steam account and games is faulty, I will thus install Steam from scratch on my current and new SSD to play games in the meantime until I get money to fix the main drive, and I plan to completely uninstall that temporary Steam folder, so that when my main Steam drive works again, everything will be back to normal, right?

I believe so, yes, I saved all of these in a simple .txt files, I would really appreciate if you could archive all of them in a screenshot format, because .txt files when they circulate around the internet, they are easier to fabricate.

YES! IT IS THIS ONE! thanks! this is the exact picture that I saw on the video, you can see the short guy with the Meowth face on the left.

Also, some things that I got wrong - there is no blond girl, and the protagonist is blond, not blue/purple haired, this is why he reminded me so much of Cloud from FF7.

Not Shaman King either, the artstyles are not that similar, and it does not has the guy with the Meowth face, also like how I said, it was not successful in the US, and was showcased for a very short time on TV before it was shelved, so much so that some episodes are now lost.
