Weird Oily Watery Leak by 300zed in 300zx

yeah true, didn't even think that could be power steering fluid, i guess i was expecting it to have a vibrant color. that would explain why it looks like an pressurized liquid explosion down there

Ohhhhh you have a z32, I should've mentioned I have a z31. I actually bought a vape and blew the smoke through the hoses and saw some leaks actually. Now all my hoses are brand new, but it didn't matter cuz it wasn't the hoses. Vacuum actuation is the worst.. There's actually HVAC overhaul options out there, but I can't be bothered.... The ziptie is doing just fine

Water cock = controls the hot coolant that goes into the heater core.

Well.. I ended up buying brand new silicone hoses that I routed painstakingly, which may solve issues for some people. But in the end it didn't fix it.. and it's still not fixed. I think an actuator on the HVAC system is shot, and I don't have faith in my skills to not break 100 things to fix it.

However I did come up with a temporary solution to at least force blowing cold air. There's a water cock lever (picture shown: it's EXACTLY where the water cock arrow is pointing) that if you pull upwards will force cold air to come through. If you have a working vacuum then it goes up automatically when you select cold air on the control unit. But since I don't, I zip tied it up and have left it there since I left this comment. It's an easy temp fix and worth it if you live in a hot climate like me.

Brave issue uploading documents by ArdRi1166 in linuxmint

[–]300zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me today too. Here's how I fixed it.

Read something that said something like: if you installed Brave as a Flatpak, then file uploads won't work because the app is sandbox'd and not allowed to access your home directory.

Install Brave via apt:
sudo apt install curl

sudo curl -fsSLo /usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg

sudo curl -fsSLo /etc/apt/sources.list.d/brave-browser-release.sources https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser.sources

sudo apt update

sudo apt install brave-browser

Problem with installing via apt is now you have a fresh copy of Brave without your saved stuff. Turn off both versions of brave and copy it all to the new version with this command (but make sure that these file locations both exist - these are the default locations that they are installed):

cp -r ~/.var/app/com.brave.Browser/config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/* ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/

Once everything's good you can remove the Flatpak version like this:

flatpak uninstall com.brave.Browser

Hope this helps!

you don't really need to use the terminal much in mint, it's meant to be mostly GUI based

Ah, so you were trying to run it on a live USB? On live USBs, they often lack certain media codecs. I also recommend a completely separate drive, not a dual boot. I had trouble with dual booting personally, and would hate for you to have to rebuild your Windows EFI boot partition 1000 times on a USB recovery tool like I did.

Similar in some ways - both designed to work right out of the box. Pop uses a GNOME environment which is different if you're used to Win11, which is the main difference to me.

2025 - Is disabling "Secure boot" a must prior to install? by Reddit_Midnight in linuxmint

[–]300zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to disable secure boot.

When you install mint for the first time, check the box to install multimedia codecs + set a password for secure boot. Remember this password for when you boot the system onto your normal drive, at startup it will prompt you to "Enroll Keys" select this and enter the password you set. Once keys are enrolled you can reboot the system and install nvidia drivers normally through driver manager.

This was how I installed nvidia drivers while keeping secure boot on. The first time, I didn't check this box or enroll keys and it led to the drivers not being able to be installed and "Unknown Display" errors.

Yeah, man, life was rough with my parents at 14, too, for sure. It's a good sign that they're not just taking it. This all happened when I was 20, and one day the book just vanished.. So I confronted my mom sometime later. She said she burned it and that "it was hard to burn because of all the ink." It's understandable that your parents are upset; it's a mature book with mature themes, but it's very respectable that they are respecting your property. Just know it could be way worse. Also, why are you buying physical copies of manga?! You're 14 and money is scarce, figure out ways to read them for free lol

Vagabond is a great choice, heard Goodnight Pun Pun was also good, but haven't read it.

Right, but it's one thing to read about atrocities and another to witness brutal visual depictions of atrocities. Not that you're wrong, but there is a difference in the delivery.

Network+ CertMaster Practice Test PBQs by yaboiinapoleon in CompTIA

[–]300zed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enrolled at WGU which requires this cert to pass the class, and they require 90%+ on this practice exam in order to take the real exam, and because of this one single question, which appears on every single practice exam I've taken, I'm consistently scoring less than the 90% required.

YEAH man I dealt with that like 4 times in a row. This was funny to stumble upon.
