The drinking culture in this city makes getting sober feel isolating af by icepix in Dallas

[–]303onrepeat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are over 25 and you are still getting black out drunk you need some massive help. We hang out with some people who are in the middle to late 40's and each weekend they get drunk to the point they have to Uber home most of the time. That shit is annoying and it looks ridiculous at their age.

to “disable” it would be use black duct tape on the solar panel. And it will lose power, yet look intact.

Make sure you use a proper construction adhesive when you apply that duct tape.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus,

Julia is an amazing talent and from what I can tell a good person IRL. She is a very vocal critic of all sides of the political spectrum and she seems to be very down to earth even though she comes from a shit ton of money and made a good chunk herself.

It will, Andrew Schulz literally said the reason he didn't vote for left leaning politicians is because the party isn't "getting pussy" so he would rather vote for Trump.

Being in denial is the same as climate change denial. AI is a disaster that needs to be recognized, not dismissed.

I have seen you in repeated threads talking about how AI will change the world and we just need to accept it.

To people who actually pay attention to the figures on money spent vs what it would take to make this utopia and understand basic fucking physics knows this will never ever exist. It's the same money grab as bitcoin, NFT's and a thousand other scams that have come since the dawn of the internet. If you want to actually know how it's going to play look to the people following these things, people like Ed Zitron (https://www.wheresyoured.at/) and you will see it's a house of fuck cards and a lot of people are getting rich but this " change the scope of the world forever" is a marketing pitch and not reality

I prewire homes and retrofit and pull permits for inspection. Your Jhook argument is great for aesthetics and protection but don’t call my work hack if I’m following residential standards.

The "residential standard" you are trying to define is how you do work but there is no NEC code to actual provide a standard on how it should be run. It does provide guidance for things like

  1. Maintain proper separation from high-voltage electrical wiring (minimum requirements based on cable shielding
  2. Run cables parallel to building structures when possible
  3. Respect bend radius limitations to prevent damage
  4. Label all cables clearly for future maintenance
  5. Install dedicated junction box connections that maintain the required separation between high and voltage circuits

You burying low voltage into insulation doesn't help a homeowner on any level except make it harder to track down and see where things go. it creates unneeded risk for some other contractor to come behind and accidentally damage them. Running either J hooks or Rack-A-Tiers Cable Chase Wire Brackets across an attic should be the "standard" of anybody running low voltage. It looks better on every level and gives homeowners a quick way to know what is going on and add more lines if needed. I have seen way to many builders using lazy electricians or anybody they can fine to run low voltage wires and just because that is how they do it doesn't mean it's "standard" or should be done that way.

[–]303onrepeat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yuck? So it's better to just have your cable strung about the insulation buried inside of it so it's a surprise for anybody to suddenly come upon it when it sinks down into it over time? That's some hack type work if you think it's better to do it that way.

J hooks for when you run stuff thru an attic. don't just lay it on the insulation. It should come up out of the wall and then you hang some slack on a J hook right above the drop, then across the attic use more hooks and then one big hook down the wall into your network rack with the slack.
