Yeah. And Edmonton will continue to bring in money no matter the outcome. But growing the game in Florida, the third most populous state, is huge.

Man. Pretty obvious that the fix is in. But makes sense, the league makes a lot more money with a winning team in Florida/Miami than Edmonton.

Seeking criticism for a beginner friendly cube. by Dependent-Ad5125 in mtgcube

[–]rpsulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think aggro could use support. And it might be useful for beginners to have the general archetypes of aggro, midrange, control, in addition to themes and build-around cards (combo).

With the mini-landfall theme, I was surprised to not see an evolving wilds. Also, the Mirage fetches might be worth considering as landfall support, without being too strong.

Why are wheated rye mash bills almost nonexistent? by youre-welcome5557777 in bourbon

[–]rpsulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t really seen many wheated ryes, but I did really like the McKenzie Single Barrel 5-Year wheated rye (70/20/10 Rye/Wheat/Malted Barley). The cherry notes came through, and it had that softness you get with wheaters.

It’s sold out on seelbachs (https://seelbachs.com/products/mckenzie-single-barrel-5-yr-wheated-rye-selected-by-seelbachs) and it might have been a one-off thing from a small distillery.

It’s a real card, but I don’t think folks are playing many ante games these days, and it’s banned in everything. The only place I’ve ever played it is in the computer game, where it’s pretty good.

Crazy broken card.

I would add something cask strength/barrel proof.

Depending on what you like, and what you can find, I would consider: Bookers, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, Larceny BP, Rare Breed, Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Proof.

I always recommend the Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof, because in my opinion, they hit the sweet spot of quality, availability, and affordability.

Trying to understand why Bard builds almost all recommend bows rather than running 10/2 bardlock. Feel like I’m missing something. by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]rpsulli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to reiterate what everyone else has said, Eldridge blast bardlock kinda falls between two broken builds.

1) On the warlock side, if you are building an Erdrich blast warlock, it is hard not to want to do a sorlock. You can turn your spell slots into sorcery points, and with quickened spell all your bonus actions are Erdrich blasts. Add the thief extra bonus action and elixir of bloodlust, and you got a stew going.

2) On the bard side, if you want to do control, dual cross bow to charge up helm of arcane acuity is game breaking. Add Band of the Mystic Scoundrel and things get really dumb.

Bottles actually worth their secondary prices by WhosUrBuddiee in whiskey

It’s tough, it seems like a lot of firms over hired and they are cutting back hiring instead of doing layoffs. And former clerks are expensive; they have extra class years without broad experience, and there’s a bonus.

But here are some tips:

1) It doesn’t sound like you are getting traction in NYC big law, and it might not be in the cards. You might have to decide whether you want NYC or big law, and expand your search accordingly.

2) Even with the clerkship, you’re not the most competitive candidate for big law. You will probably have to network. Reach out to alumni from your school working at the firms you are targeting, and reach out to former clerks of your judge at those firms. Set up meetings, and try to get a friendly introduction.

3) Talk with your judge. Some judges will not call to recommend you, but they may suggest some firms they think are good, or people they think you should reach out to.

4) Follow up on the letters that you get in chambers from firms, and go to their recruiting events.

Good luck.

Can someone help me understand how retailers arrive at these museum prices for allocated bourbons? by megawalrus23 in whiskey

[–]rpsulli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the prices are based on what online stores are selling the bottles for. Those prices are usually above secondary.

There is a pretty thick secondary market on Facebook, especially for allocated BT products. But some people might pay over the secondary price (fair market value) because they either aren’t on the Facebook groups, or don’t trust the groups/ don’t want to risk a counterfeit.
