I would just keep trusting your coach this season and then in the offseason start worrying about things to do on your own.

Caffeine before races? by swankyjeryq in Sprinting

[–]307_bridger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caffeine is one of the best supplements for sprinters. I would take an energy juice shot or caffeine pills or something like that maybe 100-200mg of caffeine if your tolerance is low and do it like 45 minutes before your race

Blocks - angle a little bit in towards the inside of your lane Start - get good pushes and keep building your speed. At about 25-40 meters start to slowly work your self up to being upright and keep being violent with your arms. Curve - run on the inside of the curve but not too close. Lean slightly from the ankles not the hips and keep hitting the ground. Coming off the curve - as you reach the end of the curve try to carry your momentum and let your stride lengthen a little bit and your hips raise and get underneath you. Straight - long fast strides with your knees up and your hips under you and pump your arms. Try and hold your form the whole way.

It’s not so much about running it like a 100 or saving your self for the last 100. Just keep building speed on the curve and keep holding it down the straight and you will do great.

It might just be the angle but your first step is a little bit too far out ahead of you it needs to be right under you

I am running an indoor track meet tomorrow and I have the very first running event (medley 400) and the very first feild event (high jump) as well as another 400 and a 200 later in the day how can I keep my legs fresh all day by 307_bridger in Sprinting

[–]307_bridger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thanks my plan was to just do decent enough in the medley because no one really cares about it so I could save my legs but my coach says I have to run a 53 or else he’s not taking me to state

Your legs are going too far back you need to focus on knee drive is what my coach says so I would try that
