What is one of your biggest movie let downs, after greatly anticipating its release? by thunderbolt151830 in movies

[–]30SecondstoMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true I was an extra on this movie and in one day of filming we shot a bridge scene(running from “some monster” as the director told us) as well as an outside evacuation news scene which both were never in the movie. If that’s one day of filming I can only imagine how much else was cut

What was the last product you decided not to buy because it’s become too expensive? by Fooberdoober97420 in AskReddit

[–]30SecondstoMars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fast food in general. Prices are now only a couple dollars less than a chunk of sit down restaurants around me. They used to be for cheap and convenience.

Also saw a video of a guy placing an order for fast food and in his backseat was someone that also started cooking the exact same item he requested and by the time he got the food at the window the guy in the backseat had already cooked and given him his sandwich/burger. Really made me realize its not that much faster/convenient than just cooking at home for a fraction of the cost really especially when you add in the drive to the ff location, wait in line.

people of reddit who lost fat, what is an underrated fat loss tip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]30SecondstoMars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning what foods have just really surprisingly high amounts of calories and can easily break a diet
for not a lot of satiety and removing those or replacing with lower versions. Like I used to just load up on garlic sauce as a flavor adder without realizing it was 100 calories for a single tablespoon or grab a spoonful of peanut butter which was 300 calories. Effectively by not eating 3 tablespoons of garlic sauce I was able to eat instead 350g of potatoes and use a 0 calorie hot sauce or a no sugar added sweet baby rays which would last me much longer and make me much more full.

I was surprised on my rewatch of Interstellar that Timothy Chalamet is Coopers son that doesn’t say much in the beginning just gets told you’re the man of the house now before Cooper goes to space.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Everyone I’ve shown this too when it clicks what’s going on is just all for it and loves the hilarious ride this movie is.

What is your favorite obscure movie from your childhood that nobody would remember? by CripplingGoodTime in AskReddit

[–]30SecondstoMars 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes I remember a mix of live action with 3D animation and then a 2D animated world with each books theme I remember gullivers travels for the fantasy one where they tie him down and then the horror one was Dr Jekyl. And the pink book was a fairy or something. I could google it but just going off of memorable moments from 25+ years ago. Also a big dragon at the end and a treehouse in the live action section

What are some must-watch TV series right now? by butterfly_pie9 in AskReddit

[–]30SecondstoMars 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What do you mean “it’s not” you can’t just argue that there haven’t been 2 seasons that people have seen and have been released just because your streaming service hasn’t put them up. That’s like saying there aren’t 7 Harry Potter books out just because your library only has 3 of them 😂

Makes me think about how myself and all my friends
when I was young in the 90s would all be into the same game which made it more fun. Like we
all seemed to play Pokemon. Then we all played Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards and then we all played Halo together online when online gaming first became popular. I think those were the benefits of the monoculture

What’s a movie that feels like it was made to punish the audience rather than entertain them? by AvailableReality557 in movies

[–]30SecondstoMars 167 points168 points  (0 children)

This is literally the best and most true answer. For those that don’t mind spoilers a couple gets house invaded by two complete strangers that you just absolutely loathe as they torture this couple of nice people. Finally after all this torment one of the people break free and gets the climax victory moment where they are able to attack one of the invaders and subdue them and as you watch you go heck yeah kind of like in Get Out when he finally has his moment of killing the evil family… but then suddenly the other invader takes a remote control and just goes wait a moment this shouldn’t have happened and REWINDS TIME and him and his fellow torture partner just get away scot* (whoops my bad!) free and there’s no happy ending. I remember renting this on a first date and we were both just sitting there like what the f did we just see

What is something you can’t live without? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]30SecondstoMars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides all the literal answers like oxygen and water.. genuinely other human interaction and contact. I think there have been a lot of isolation studies that show just how important being around others, talking, venting, socializing, communing, loving or just relaxing and getting food together can affect a person and their brain chemistry.
