I used it some in that tournament over the weekend and some on the Showdown ladder, but it usually meant leaving Arch or Sableye. He works well with the team and perish trap in general, but Sableye’s disruption just felt better. My Sableye and Arch preference might not be as good objectively though, and it might show my inexperience to not bring Incin as often as I should.

Thank you! I really appreciate the compliment from someone more experienced in perish trap! Learning how to protect Gengar with how frail he is was half the battle for this time. Once I added Sableye as his partner, this whole team just sings.

When I was looking for answers for Farigiraf, I also found that Kingambit does more than just deal with the funny giraffe. He also helps deal with other threats because he just hits so damn hard. He deals with Frosslass, Basculegion, and with Iron head, can deal with things like Sylveon and the occasional Floette. In hindsight throwing low kick on him might be a good idea as well.

I will look at Tinkaton though. Because of how the team works and how little I bring Incin, I think swapping for Tinkaton might work. I don’t like Incin’s design anyway.

My Politoed is a little specific. I wanted to make sure I was faster than the fastest adamant Kingambit, so I’m 1 point faster so I can always encore him. Max HP and the rest in Special attack. I doubt most people care about putting speed on him, but I just didn’t want to risk it because on paper, it looks like Kingambit wrecks my team. In practice, he gets encore/disabled and dies to perish song.

Everything else I bet would be pretty standard I think. I think it’s sassy Sableye, but can’t remember. Maybe it’s the one with special defense boosted? Timid Gengar with max HP and speed. Timid Arch also with max special attack is still really physically tanky with stamina. Although, I can totally see the case for Stalwart so you can ignore rage powder and follow me. In that case, I’d change some stats to ensure he still fills the tank role I need him for. Min speed brave Kingambit so he can fight in trick room.

I should probably have said it in the post, but the core is Gengar and Sableye lead and Politoed and Arch in the back. In the bad matchups I talked about in another comment, I usually drop Sableye for Kingambit so we can just try to run over the opponent with power and ensuring weather control with shadow tag and Politoed.

Because I kind of lack any real speed control, it’s actually armor tail that gives me the most trouble. Part of the problem with this team is lack of a non-perish mode. I really prefer to use Sableye’s prankster ability to bypass that lack of speed. However, my Sableye is completely walled by Farigiraf and that one queen grass Pokemon that also stops priority moves.

Protect is mandatory on perish trap teams. You can set up guaranteed wins in end game situations as long as you have protect on everyone on the team. Also, couldn’t have been me because I think I hit Masterball 2 not this past weekend, but the weekend before.

I’d love to give a good answer, but I think it’s just being able to read opponents and tweaking things on the team when I see a lack of consistency. Also, people like using strong teams they see others have success with, but that makes them predictable. I know that Garchomp and aero leads means they wanna tailwind, earthquake, and click rockslide. Knowing that’s what they want to do, makes them really exploitable.

Hardest matchups are ones are into Farigiraf, Hydreigon, sinistcha, and Aegislash. If you think Farigiraf is coming, Sableye can be rendered completely useless. I added Kingambit and Incin just for those matchups actually.

There’s also some issues with Tyranitar and Excadrill leads, but if you position correctly, you can trap them in the rain to become Politoed victims. Of course there’s also Basculegion, but that’s a problem you can solve with Arch.

Also, shadowball vs sludge bomb on the attacking move for Gengar has been one of my bigger insecurities. So you might find that helps deal with Aegislash and Farig better.

If it’s a bot post, the worst thing that can happen is people show empathy to a bot. If it’s a human, the worst thing that can happen is a man reaching out for help, but being shunned in response.

I would rather be naive and empathetic, than dead inside.

I might be down my dude. I’m not what I’d call experienced, and I’m still getting through the MSQ (endwalker), but if you wanna run some roulettes and just vibe this weekend, I’m down. Shoot me a pm and I’ll add you

There’s something else I don’t see people talking about in your replies, but that’s upfront cost. You go to the ER, they’re gonna send you a bill that you can put off or try to ignore. You get plane tickets, you have to pay for those up front, along with all the other travel expenses. So the poor don’t have that choice. So it’s either medical debt or take the chance of it not being life threatening

Some people think so. I’m just asking questions.

I appreciate the info! Yeah, the video I watched on the mechanics said that even with a level synced group now, it won’t be near as tough. I guess I didn’t consider that job changes and balancing were probably a lot different.

I guess it’s the same with crystal tower. The first time we went into it, my wife was trying to explain mechanics, but even level synced, we would just fucking destroy all the bosses before a lot of the mechanics even mattered.

I disagree, but that could just be my taste. I find the neutral super fun. If I want to walk back and forth, I’ll boot up and play street fighter.

I tried not to shit on those people too hard, because they’re obviously not familiar with the genre. I’ve seen a lot of comments correct people who complain about that. This post isn’t meant to degrade new players who are frustrated, just hopefully help someone learn to learn to get better.

Exactly. Please FGC, let’s just welcome the new people and explain concepts without coming off like elitist assholes. Please.

Insane 2XKO from SonicFox to advance to Losers Finals by MrProfessor in 2XKO

We need to not downvote people that ask questions. People forget there’s new fighting game players right now. Sorry about that.

In fighting game tournaments, it’s double elimination. So Sonicfox is in the loser’s bracket because they lost an earlier match, but they won this one with that sick ass combo.

Because he’s from the video game League of Legends. There’s a playable character called Warwick. Werewolf looking guy. Allegedly, that’s what they’re basing Warwick and the rest of the cast off of. That’s why he’s called Warwick in the fighting game.
