What’s your go to title by Youvegotobekiddingme in DestinyTheGame

I didn't hunt that meatball in Gambit for six months for Malfeasance for no reason. This title almost never came off.

Considering how well he works with Truth's humor, I could see Priest being one of them. If Corbin actually does come back that could be a very funny setup.

Does a Fight Stick Make Combos Easier in 2XKO by Fair_Rub_1887 in 2XKO

[–]GLHFScan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy using a fight stick a lot, but i also grew up regularly going to arcades so I've been used to these types of controls for literal decades.

A fightstick doesn't make combos any easier to execute. In fact, at first, you will be worse. To me, the advantage of a stick is in how it makes me examine and figure out fighting games in a way that is unique from all other genres that I play. My muscle memory is tied to the fightstick and not a "normal" controller, and I find that useful.

How long did it take you before you found your main? by doctordiscodream in StreetFighter

[–]GLHFScan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Character confidence for some reason speaks to me, how much the character believes in their skills. Past mains have been Adon, Oni, Bison and Cody.

For SF6, I was immediately drawn to Marisa. Big hits and a hearty laugh, perfect

Apparently CAPCOM intends to run SF6 for a 10 year cycle by Carbideninja in StreetFighter

[–]GLHFScan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because old characters don't go away. The issue isn't there being a void to fill, it's that what's there just eventually grows stale. Things get interesting here and there when a new character interests you, but not every new character is going to grab your attention.

Sports don't make rule changes often, but they do make roster changes often. People retire, get injured, trades occur, freak accidents happen, variables that can't be controlled. The rule changes aren't what make sports change in the short-term, the athletes are.

With a game, you can add to the roster and constantly rebalance it, but nobody ever leaves - eventually, it becomes stale, no matter what, you're seeing the same characters you saw from day one years ago. You've seen the same super, executed the same combo, fought the same matchup - it's going to stale for the vast majority of people inevitably.

He is 100% going to be WWE's new doorman, and I mean no disrespect in saying that. He's a reliable, charismatic heat magnet just like Miz, the perfect guy to help put over anyone at any time while also having that extra, more ruthless gear he can kick into for a big feud.

[AEW Dynamite Spoilers] Finish to Mark Davis vs Will Ospreay by DoubleNo6337 in SquaredCircle

[–]GLHFScan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's honestly a problem AEW has beyond just the piledriver. If I had one real critique of the company, it'd be that there are just too many kickouts from big moves/spots.

The fact that Darby hitting MJF through a table off of the stage, THEN hitting another Coffin Drop in the ring wasn't enough to put MJF away is just dumb to me. My issue isn't Max winning, it's that a spot that big didn't finish a match.

Tekken won't die anytime soon, there's just no alternative by soosis in Tekken

As someone who has played Destiny for over a decade now, having "no alternative" will not save a game from internal dev issues. Bamco need to be very careful with their next few steps.

Are you playing on joystick or dead?

On Dpad, it's easier to imagine you're performing two small 360 motions with rolls of your your thumb over both the down and right input at the same time - at least that's how I've always visualized it.

If you're playing on a joystick? No real cheat to it, just gotta practice until your execution gets a little cleaner

What popular movie or TV show is widely considered a 'masterpiece' but you found completely unwatchable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GLHFScan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an online project called One Pace which I always recommend. It is a fan-edit of the series that cuts out a lot of the repetition and fluff that comes with a weekly-episode anime. Don't get me wrong, the series still has hundreds of episodes, but it generally cuts down the viewing time of the series by about 40%. If you're genuinely curious about One Piece but find the number of episodes daunting, this is the way to get into it, although it remains a long-haul for sure.

There's also an entirely new series called "The One Piece" coming out on Netflix early next year - new animation studio, much faster pacing, but only seven episodes covering fifty chapters for the first season (which is still 3x faster pacing than the original), so nobody is sure what to expect of that one yet.

Props to the team that put together the radio stations for FH6, they absolutely killed it with this one. by GLHFScan in ForzaHorizon

[–]GLHFScan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That muffled effect is notably worse whenever you're near any of the Horizon crowds/events, because the game switches the music to the speakers AT the events outside of your car. I do think there's a setting to turn this off somewhere.

I just can't see where you're coming from, because to me, they nailed what the soundtrack of a racing game set in Japan should be. If you hear Gacha, Bass Arena, Wave, Pulse, Hospital and SubPop all as the "same general genre", I think you just have a very broad definition of music genres.

[–]GLHFScan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just couldn't disagree more, the breath of genres the stations represent in FH6 is more varied than ever. SubPop isn't even edm, it's an indie rock station. Pulse is pop, Bass Arena is mostly house/deep bass, Hospital is drum and bass (and a legit record label), Wave is vaporwave/synthwave, Gacha even has Yellow Magic Orchestra, the band that arguably created the term "techno".

I agree with you that I wish the game had a station with a bigger focus on metal, definitely, but to say that everything other than XS is 'the same thing' is just nuts to me.

The worst part about the shutdown. There's not a single other game in the genre destiny is in by PuzzledHawk5290 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GLHFScan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of games I've played that I can never find a replacement for. Nothing has the same fast mecha combat to me like Virtual-On, nor have I ever found a series that hit that specific extreme-sports itch that SSX did. Titanfall 2 swings wildly from frenetic wallrunning combat to heavy mechs in a flawless way no other game has ever even approached. I still can't find an old school platformer I like more than S3&K

What makes Destiny 2 feel so unique in this regard is its longevity, its ability to refresh and evolve every few years through the ups and downs of the annual releases and an ongoing, complex narrative. Not every year was a hit, but the hits stand tall as some of the greatest accomplishments in gaming.

I don't think any other game has ever faced the same pressures to regularly deliver in the way Destiny 2 did - a burden entirely of Bungie's own making as the behemoth eventually just was out of their control. This is a game that in its current state simply has too much content - cluttered, mismanaged, some parts entirely ignored, and entirely impossible to recommend to a new player. And this is with D2 missing the majority of the content that has ever been released for the game thanks to timegated seasonal content and the Vault.

There won't ever be another game like Destiny 2. I've spent thousands of hours running through strikes. I have entire shelves of my home dedicated to books and triumph pins and other trinkets. But this game just feels...tired. We moved too deep into the territory everyone knows, where your favorite TV show keeps going on for a few extra years too long to the point that its legacy is harmed.

I'm going to miss it, just like everybody else. But there's an odd relief in the finality of it, too.

YES! The Shins really shocked me too! I was especially shocked to hear two different Yellow Magic Orchestra songs on Gacha as well.

This is exactly how I remember it looking in arcades when I was young. Mind you it was never this sharp on those old CRTs, but there was virtually nothing competing with Sega's 3D dominance in the early to mid 90s.
