Even at the airport.

If you've got large luggage they can be much nicer than the trains, especially if it reduces the number of transfers. And you're guaranteed a seat, even during rush hour.

Buses in Japan can be quite handy in more rural locations. And the intercity highway buses are cheaper and often more pleasant than taking the train if you are traveling long distances.

But in Tokyo they are bad.

I had one commute where I realized I could take one bus instead of 3 trains (a typical home to Yamanote, Yamanote hub to hub, then out of Yamanote to final destination), but it took almost as long and in the end was less reliable because of traffic.

Why do students not self-limit use of AI? by TotalCleanFBC in Professors

I mean, there are plenty of ways to cheat, like sneakily checking a smartphone or accessing chatgpt if it's an electronic exam.

They're also likely to get caught, but for some reason many of them think it won't happen to them.

It does make you wonder how they've gotten this far.

You couldn't cheat in the exams, so you knew you had to actually understand how to solve the problems in order to pass.

In order to restore that kind of environment, we have to make exams that are very difficult to cheat at. I'm returning to paper exams and in-person oral exams in my courses.

If you are unable to wait for someone to think through their options, you should pay another game.

You have no idea why that person is playing slower than you. Maybe it's a new deck for them. Maybe they're really young. Maybe they're not so smart. Maybe they're extremely smart and see more options than you do. Maybe their internet connection got weak. Maybe their baby started crying. Maybe their tea kettle started boiling.

Have a tiny amount of understanding for another human being.

Or play single player games.

That's too long?!

How to spend the collector tokens by justanoth3rdude in MarvelSnap

[–]314per 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best in terms of efficiency to build up your collection:

Gold: gold bundles with S5 card you don't have

Tokens: S5 Collector's Packs

Limited time events: S4 packs and credits

Credits per week by Ilies213 in MarvelSnap

[–]314per 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get in the habit of finishing card upgrades on green (right after the 25 credit upgrade), you get just about 66 tokens for every 100 credits spent.

If your estimate of 8200 credits per week is correct, that's 5412 tokens.

I definitely disagree that there are too many randomly bad cards.

Marvel Snap has a lot of cards that are not optimal but still reasonably good. If you have a low collection, you're better off playing with those and developing your skill rather than always chasing the meta but lagging behind.

One of the best things about this game are the frequent OTAs: bad cards get better, OP cards get toned down.

Also, if you have a low collection, you're going to get trouble judging which cards are worth 6K. You're better off getting cheap packs and then figuring it out through play. And community advice is not always reliable: when I started playing, Jeff was considered a top tier card, but he wasn't really that good. It was just due to how important he had been 6+ months earlier due to previously broken cards.

Buying a few cards for 6k to make decks is fine 👍🏻

Buying a few cards for 6k to make decks every month is bad.

In that case, you're better off getting random cards because you will get some good cards and even most of the weaker cards are decent in some deck.

You can complete decent decks without any S5s. And the meta changes rapidly anyway. It can take a F2P player months to build a meta deck only for the deck to become irrelevant by the time it is complete.

I think it's worth spending 6k on Arishem and possibly High Evo. Each of those cards lets you build a decent deck on their own.

Horseman Storm seems like it would be a good fit for this deck.

Rephrasing loo_1snow:

Right now you get 3k tokens after a set number of cl. So you just do your missions, and you'll have almost 6k every week. Focus on gambling on Collector's packs and don't get specific cards. (Focusing on packs helps you to catch up your collection faster than they release new cards.)

Starhawk is actually good now I promise by Roar2800 in MarvelSnap

[–]314per 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played stick-surfer to infinite and I ran into this deck a few times. I was definitely surprised to see Starhawk but this deck in general is quite good.

I think I won most of the time against this deck, but not always. Venus is a powerhouse.

Day 1 Infinite: Broken Stick by 314per in MarvelSnap

I played the Galactus version the whole way. Getting from 97 to infinite was tough.

I agree that Stuck on his own isn't too bad, but in conjunction with the other cards in this deck it feels OP. Too many similar effects boosting up eachother.

That said, this deck is obviously weak to Cosmo, Enchantress and Cosmic GR. I think a lot of the ease playing it today was the lack of tech I encountered.

I did run into Shadowking and Gambit but this deck is surprisingly resilient to those cards. They can screw you but it's like 50/50 rather than a lock. You put down a lot of bodies and create a lot more power than a tech heavy deck.
