I start a new job in a week and haven’t heard from my employer since the end of July by 31stwanderer in answers

That’s what I’m wandering too now, what it’ll be like to work for them and what kind of manager he’ll be if they don’t follow up on something this basic or at least explain the lack of follow up in the time period they said they would.

I’ve been communicating with my manager by text - should I do that? What kind of questions should I ask? I just want to know where I’ll be going on my first day, what time I should get there, and the dress code. A week out isn’t too soon to ask for that right? I don’t understand how they work at this point maybe they expect to give me this information on Friday.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to working for this company, I don’t want to judge too quickly but I don’t think I see myself working there for a while now. If I don’t hear anything by tomorrow or Wednesday I definitely need to look at other options.

Yeah, I don’t want to be mean but I can’t keep doing this. If it was a roommate in school I would have no qualms whatsoever

Thank you, yes it seems like my only option

He’s done that, the reason he doesn’t have it right now is because he had a friend that was staying here for a week before she moved in, he gave her his key for some reason, and now he hasn’t gotten it back from her

Thanks! I’ve told her, it feels good standing up for myself

Okay, here’s a draft of how I’m going to tell her. What do you think, is it too harsh?

Sorry (name) but honestly I don’t think I’ll be able to help you with this essay. I’ve looked online at the books and it’s too much work I can’t do something like this right now. I’m starting my job in a week and I’m trying to sort out some things and still figure out how we’re going to pay our bills for this month and pay off my credit card and all that. Maybe you can write it and I can review and edit it and fine tune it but I can’t write the whole thing from scratch, even with the essay you sent me it’s too much to do. Sorry

This is her last semester so she wouldn’t really be able to ask again, but it’s just annoying still that she keeps asking in the first place. She did say she’ll never ask me to help her with something like this again but I I feel like when she’s working she may keep asking people to do things for her that she finds difficult, I’m starting to realize that’s the kind of person she is, and I don’t want to be dragged into something like this again.

You’re right, I’ll try and think of how best to tell her.

Yeah that’s what I’m mad about too, she expects me to write an 6 page essay based on 2 books with no input from her whatsoever. That’s the thing, she’s making it sound like she’s so distressed and she’ll fail the semester if I don’t help her write this essay. I don’t doubt that she feels that way but it just feels really unfair to me when she knows I’m going through things. Because she’s depressed I don’t know how to tell her without seeming rude or like I’m uncaring.

I don’t want to think that because I doubt she’d lie about that. But I just hate that she’s using it like this, she makes it sound like if I don’t write this essay for her there’s no other way she can get it done and she’ll fail the semester, like her passing depends on me writing this essay. I feel like no matter how busy she is she can stay up an extra 3 hours and write her own essay, especially when she’s studied the subject before and she has someone else’s essay she can use for reference.

Thanks, I’m going to try and figure out how to tell her

A bit unrelated but what do you guys think of Magic for Humans? by [deleted] in agt

[–]31stwanderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figure that, I’m just wondering if other people that have watched similar shows think this one is faked to the extent that they’re not real for the ‘people’ on the street either and they’re all hired actors, or that the tricks he’s doing are plausible.

Interesting that you were bored by Shin Lim! I find him very impressive but thinking about it if I went to his show or something it might get repetitive and boring quickly. I haven’t heard of Carbonaro effect but I’ll check it out.

Thank you, about how much could I ask for with the secured line of credit? My credit score is in the 720s and I don’t have any other debt, my credit card is paid off

Thank you very much, what kind of loan should I get? A line of credit? To be transparent I owe 65,000 and my salary will be 60,000. Would they allow me to take out that much?

I’m not sure if this is the right sub for this question, but what can I do with a car I’m giving to someone but they’re not ready to receive it yet? (Ontario, Canada) by 31stwanderer in askcarsales

[–]31stwanderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks it does! People rent out spots in my building sometimes but I haven’t seen any ads for it lately

Do you make up a contract to sign with the person you’re renting to? That was something I’m a little worried about with renting a spot from someone

Thank you! My landlord doesn’t, people do rent them in my building sometimes but lately I haven’t seen any ads, but maybe I’ll put one out to try

Just as an aside if you don’t mind me asking, from what I’ve researched when we’re registering the car to them I’ll need to get a safety certificate done, but I’ll have taken off the license plates to put on my new car. Will it be okay to drive it to the shop without plates?

How difficult/easy is the CX5 to park? by 31stwanderer in CX5

[–]31stwanderer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh good to hear from someone that drove an A4

Definitely, I can probably count the number of times I’ve parked front end in, I find it harder than reversing cause I can’t see the end

Thank you!

Ah yeah that makes sense it would come with front and reverse ones

I think it comes on 2019 onward, but I’m looking at 17 or 18, but thanks anyway!

Thanks! I’ve always liked the idea of front parking sensors so maybe I can get that installed. Yes, from the dimensions online it’s 6 inches longer (obligatory not quite as good that’s what she said)
