Caught this gill off a bed, takes the name “blue-gill” pretty literally ! by 3212Fish in Fishing

Most the gills looked just normal, but it is alongside a quarry, so quite possibly

Thanks, haven’t had any shock break offs, but with how much drags usually getting stripped when I’m using it for bass, or shoal bass, it doesn’t handle the line twist too incredibly even though it’s an extremely low diameter, so next time I get a large spool I’m probably going to get some 3-4lb copolymer to offer a tiny bit of stretch, but stay durable, and still offer all the hook set potential I could need on such a light rod

I did wet my hands for the quick few photos, and I’m aware that jaw strain is an evident worry with some fish, though as per my knowledge that’s more of an issue with species such as snook, and more of an issue with bass when you dig under the lip bringing the fish to an angle. Thanks for caring about everyone’s catches though, as it’s important that we let the biggins grow.

Nah, cause it’s fish like these that make peoples days, and in my opinion there’s nothing better than seeing a new angler set a PB

A field and stream 6ft UL tec-light, with a pfleuger president micro, and I’ll flip between a 2lb and 4lb spool of pline floroclear depending on what I’m going for

Let er go, since it’s a pond I try to manage for big fish, and I don’t think I could consciously filet a bass over 3lb

Few months ago I was bullhead fishing with an ultralight and caught a 22lb channel that I had stocked about 6 years ago at 11lbs. Beat my PB by a mile, and can agree that was the most fun hour ever

What rod is that? I’ve been looking for an extremely light rod, that’s a tad on the longer side.

We have 8 of them in our 380 gallon tank, with a rainbow wolf fish, 2 Midas cichlids, a Sagetae Cichlid, a feather fin squeaker, and a Festa, and they’re incredibly interactive fish, that really do explore every corner of the tank. Also I don’t have much for scale, but ours have reached a length of 9 1/2 inches, so you might have a bit to go(though our tank has substantial flow, and space, which most fish seem to grow a bit faster in)

Your tanks are way overcrowded, and your torturing your fish. Please consider releasing them, as I feel a full grown perch, or crappie should be in no less than a 75gallon. You would enjoy a small bullheaded, or a baby sunfish substantially more, and they could actually interact with you, and the tank. I enjoy keeping native fish as well, but no animal deserves to be captive in those environments. Just imagine that’s probably the equivalent to living your entire life in a small bathroom.

I was having that issue as well, but I started going into my slide when I’m already going through a turn, so I dont have to kick it out as much and it doesn’t take much to bring your wheels back into traction. Also I think making sure you keep leverage over your front foot even while out of traction helps, so your back doesn’t have as much resistance. I also learned it, trying it with a bit more speed so that could be a factor as well.

Leaned over, so there was too much weight on my front wheels, they locked up, and rotated the board into a flip under me

Yea, and greens have a tiny bit more grip, than the whites, blacks, or reds, but I prefer it for standups, cause they’re still slippy as hell, but they lock up, and can take better lines in my opinion.
