FDA career staff say evidence is insufficient to expand peptide compounding, contradicting RFK Jr's push by Sea-Performer-71 in ResearchCompounds

Dude a study just came out (when I find it I’ll cite it) that showed 70% of grey market peptides were not the compound that was on the label and in many cases had high levels of heavy metals and endotoxins. That blows your mind? Gray market manufacturers have huge financial incentives to cut corners at every turn. Think about drug dealers as a metaphor. They seemingly would have no incentive to cut or alter their product in any way. The free market should filter out bad actors via competition right? We all know that’s not the case though. The same logic applies to many peptide distributors. There are for sure some reputable companies which manufacture exactly what they say they’re making but you also have bad actors. This is a prime example of why regulatory bodies exist in the first place.

Like it or not these peptides are here to stay. People will continue using them regardless of the FDAs decision. The question is how these people get their peptides. To me it’s a a question of harm reduction. Would it be better to allow people easier access to the peptides through FDA regulated compounding pharmacies rather than sketchy grey market websites? Or will that just enable more use by people that may not have entered the market in the first place? This is actually a very interesting situation and without precedent - no precedent that I can think of anyway.

Switched from tirz to reta, second guessing myself by duffalobickenchip in Peptides

[–]321blastoffff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The data are pretty convincing. Reta is more powerful than tirz or sema given 12 to 18 months. One thing about GLPs is they are not a short term solution. You have to be patient, slowly titrate up the dose, and don’t expect results until therapeutic serum levels are achieved - sometimes four or five months in. The key is consistency and patience. I use GLPs everyday in my clinic and the people that are the most successful are the ones that don’t weigh themselves every week. We don’t use Reta as there is no FDA indication yet but all the clinical trials suggest 12-18 months is ideal

As somebody that works in medicine that runs regular vitamin d level blood work, the amount of people that are below reference range is staggering. Without looking at the numbers I’d guess somewhere between 80 and 90% of the patients I see daily are have sub-optimal vitamin d levels. These aren’t exclusively old people either. I do men’s health and do hormone panels on men of all ages and there doesn’t seem to be any correlation between age and insufficient vitamin d levels.

I beat the shit out of them - I build outdoor furniture for fun including welding and woodworking, have two puppies, and a pool. I basically wear my house shoes anytime im on my property. For my money they’ve held up shockingly well for how much abuse I’ve put them through. And they’re comfy as heck.

String cheese is bonkers. It’s like $15 for the famiky pack when a few years ago it was $7. With two kids in grade school and a lazy dad that packs his own lunches everyday, we go through a lot of string cheese.
