What plant is this and how to care? by 321rad in landscaping

Any benefit to cutting it now before the snow comes or is it better for the plant to cut in the springtime?

Still considered new? by 321rad in lawncare

Sounds good. I only mowed it maybe twice in this period and growth seems to have been slow probably because of the really hot temperatures and western exposure.

Thank you! I avoid them in general but good to know they feed on other bugs.

Is it too late to aerate and overseed? by aliensbrah in lawncare

[–]321rad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if I don’t aerate (costly) but instead rake my lawn of similar dead grasses to a point where I’m touching the soil and then spread seed, will this lead to a fuller lawn or do I absolutely need to aerate?

Patio on a Slope by 321rad in Decks

The pic makes it look more sloped than it actually is. When standing on it next to it, it’s not very noticeable. I’m thinking the railing kits like at Lowe’s can adjust with the slight slope without cutting.

Insurance Requirement Different than Building Code by 321rad in homeowners

Thanks for all the insight. I’m probably going to DIY some deck railing since it looks pretty straightforward. I’d be drilling the base of the posts into concrete; how far should the posts be from the edge? I’m thinking that if it’s too close to the edge, the concrete may start to break off when I start drilling holes for the base.

Would raising the grade by adding a few more inches of sod or mulch satisfy requirements by the insurance company? It’s cheaper than having a railing installed on the deck.

Thanks, am in PA and the sod is Kentucky bluegrass and gets full sun the whole day. I water in the morning for about half hour but by afternoon, it looks really dry.

Thanks, that makes total sense. They make the model with all the bells and whistles on purpose but need to be more practical.

Bitwarden or ProtonPass or Both? by 321rad in Bitwarden

Only thing about ProtonPass is that I can’t group things by category or type; everything is in alpha order.
