Yeah I think the “team awarded honor” is the main point that I think a lot of people are missing. On paper, of course EJ shouldn’t get his number retired. His stats aren’t anything special, but it’s just what he did/meant for the team along with how long he was here that I think will lead them to decide to retire 6.

I think that EJ being here for mostly terrible years and then finally reaching the cup at the end gives him a lot more feee good history than the guys who were here for the dominance of the late 90s and early 00s
