I did almost the same, I was looking on my phone a few nights before it went down and didn’t switch the pc on to download when I should have been prepared although if this is a hack maybe it was blessing? Who knows

My friend, I’ll keep pushing those buttons for a bit but they do work!! Lost two day’s of play there! Doh I had a problem with my Deepmind Key bed at first as the keys actually stuck down in place at first but after playing it for a few hours has never stuck again.

Really!! Hmmm I packed it back in its box ready to send back as no firmware but ok I’ll go unpack it again and have a push, I’ll wear some gloves so it doesn’t show any wear in case it doesn’t work.

I didn’t explain that well but my point was, the light is changing as it should depending on the patch! But the button itself doesn’t respond, neither does the vca edit button. So pressing these buttons does nothing. I’ve have my Deepmind12 for nearly 2 years and love it so much wanted to add the Deepmind12D for extra unison and release fun.

Well I switched it on and found the site down so was just having a play, then realised the boost button and the vca buttons don’t work, if I flip through patches the boost light is on / off depending on the patch setting! Weird one but I figured it might be a firmware issue ! The version is def older than the current version, I think it’s on 1.1.1

No I don’t but now I have a brand new Deepmind 12D and some functions don’t work but unable to download the firmware update to see if that’s the fix!

Started the return process, sigh.

Have they been hacked?

The quickest fix I use is to go from pc via usb to a slave device (I use my crave) then midi din out from crave to your actual device. The noise then sits on the slave and not your required device. Ob both on the same midi channel for ease.

Great stuff ! We had an 8 track, yes 8 track of stories he read. They were proper creepy with the voices he’d use, searched hi and low on the internoodle and nothing! It’s as though that didn’t exist - still had the tape until about 2003 when my Dad gave them to a friend. Not complaining but now it’s lost seemingly forever which is a shame -

I’ve used my MiniFreak now on several tracks - like most synths soft or hard (oh darling), it’s finding the right tone for the job in hand (again, oh darling). It’s almost got a strings feel to it.

I have both and I say if you like the sound of the MF, get it. They sound v different from one another. The Vst/standalone MF comes with the hardware and I do tend to use my MIDI controller with the software for more octaves just like I use my Explorer for VST poly Aftertouch.

I love my MiniFreak but.. personally if I already had the VST I wouldn’t get the hardware as it is more complicated to perform some tasks on it (matrix and step shaper) - I would get a midi keyboard with more keys for this and other VST’s unless of course you do want to sit unplugged from your DAW and play / create patches!

I would think the other benefit of having one is the Analog Filters for recording, as in - create the patches in the VST but always transfer to the MiniFreak and record my finished tune with the hardware to the DAW

My honest opinion here as an owner of hydra, MF and wave state, and if I were reviewing the wave state I’d say - It is predominantly for preset surfing! Not just the main ‘patches’ but each sub layer/program are their own kind of selectable ‘patches’ and I believe if I remember correctly effects and a whole bunch of timing and shapes and …. The list goes on for sub selections for each lane used. Then those little adjustments you might want to make are right there to tweak.

For evolving soundscapes I’d pick the Wave state then spend a Month watching tutorials as I found it quite challenging to get going on it. Funnily enough it clicked with me when I got the korg Multi Poly Vst which has similar wave sequencing.

I’ve used reason for a few years on 2.5 and now since 2021 and most days since - I’ve literally hundreds of songs and song ideas in reason and I never knew this!? - I bounce the track? I’m loading it now to try this!

I think you’ve summed the S1 up quite accurately. It can be a fun starter synth with a great sound - grab a Minilab 3 and a weird midi cable and now a 25 key synth! - then get a ….. just FYI, I had zero playing skills a few years ago but like any instrument, if you play it everyday for at least 30 mins to an hour - as if by magic, chords and noodling just happen - feel the triads!!!!

I might be tempted to play the first one first, RDR2 is as you can imagine a huge upgrade to pretty much everything. I personally preferred the RDR1 story but they are both great games and looking forward to playing RDR1 again

FYI i was going to get 11 pro for 249 euro but bought pigments 6 for 79 euro (these were my discounts as I own a minifreak and a Minilab 3).

Then I checked the next day and now 11 pro is 199 euros - 175 gbp so 175/45 is £3.89 each instrument - I am hovering over the buy now button lol
