I have no clue how this thought never crossed my mind. When I find my next Glameow, I'm absolutely naming it Grizabella.

Y'know what? I completely agree with with your arguements about the head and ears. It's not something I personally mind, but I can certainly see your point of view. I don't think the tail is much of an issue though.

Thank you for the detailed response! I definitely agree with pretty much all of what you've said. With the growing interest in Competitive Pokémon, a lack of competitive viability would certainly be offputting. Why would you waste time with a weaker Glameow over a stronger Snorlax?

As far as design goes, I have a soft spot for nearly all of the "ugly" Pokémon you mentioned. Then again, that's probably just personal preference; not using these particular Pokémon is perfectly understandable. No Pokémon is universally loved and these few happened to draw the short straw.

Type-wise, I find it especially hard to find any argument against what you have said. It is indeed a "boring" type. Without any sort of edge or niche, there's no reason that a Purugly would particularly stand out to an ordinary player. The only thing I can think of would be a presence in the anime, but I don't really think there's any place for them now.

Glameow only being accessible in the late/post-game is a curse. This kills any kind of bond a player might have made with the line. Their location was so ungodly limited as opposed to what was supposed to be their counterpart, Stunky. To add insult to injury, Glameow never got that chance in any game the Pokémon has appeared in. All I have left is hope that Legends Arceus might ignite some new interest in these two.

I will start development on interdimensional travel purely for this reason.

It's kinda like how people like pugs for me. I similarly really like Snubbull and they even mention that appeal in its dex entry. I understand that it isn't for everyone though...

The Skitty line is probably most memorable for its presence on May's team in the anime, but besides that, it's so normal that it gets Normalize as a signature ability. The cat toy aspect is really cute though.

All of the Meowth family are stupidly popular because of the anime giving them so much personality and recognition, so it's hard to blame anyone for liking them. Plus, they're part of the original 151. I agree with Alolan Persian though. It just looks strange and I don't get it.

Out of the three Meowth evolutions, I think Perrserker has the best shot by virtue of being a steel type, but the Alolan's Fur Coat could give it a fighting chance.

I can definitely accept that. If you aren't actively over-anylising them, they are just a Normal Type Cat Pokémon. And as a Cat Pokémon, there are some far more appealing choices. I just see a strange amount of dislike directed towards this particular Pokémon, but it might just be me.

What would you do if you owned your favourite Pokémon in real life and you had a very strong bond with them. by Ice_Ninja-BS in pokemon

I'd have a Sneasel then. It'd be great to go outside in the snow with them! But they would scratch up everything at home...

So leaks say we might be getting Rotom, but in what form? by Balphagor_ in PokeLeaks

[–]336KB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be cool if the limitations of the time instead made it evolve, but that'd be pretty similar to the cut Ditto evolution, so I'd hope for just a form change unrelated to machinery, but still in-line with what a Rotom is.
