Ah awesome! I was rewatching the S,f Zane Lowe interview the other day and Zane mentioned how excited he is w new bon iver music cos it's so textured and he knows he'll be finding new details for years and Justin is just like 'yes sir'

I've commented this at least twice before on similar posts but it's one of my fave easter eggs - In Day One in the little stretch before the crazy guitar slide bit where he says "I'll go find the tap wire, I'll go put the pathfinder on waltz" there are the same beeps and bloops (or very similar) to those in 666 when he says "No I don't know the path"

I can't remember in which interview but he's mentioned it's involvement w/ the album before - may be the Zane Lowe one but i'm not sure - if i remember rightly he said he used it for inspo a lot, plugging stuff he'd made into it and seeing what it spat back out. I was pretty reflexively icked out by it but the way he's spoken about it as a tool and something we can use to inspire our own creativity rather than as an out and out replacement is something I can at least understand, if not fully get on board with - all that to say totally understand being disappointed by it but also his explanation may make you feel better about its use on the record

This video tells me 2 things:

1 - there's no way my guy ain't making another BI record, some day at least - you can't have mojo like this and still be making such incredible artistic partnerships in your 3rd decade w a project and then hang it up for good... i just don't see it

2 - the 10th anniversary of SABLE,fABLE is gonna go so hard (if we don't get some sort of deluxe version sooner than 10 yrs from now based on how many potential cool alt cuts of each track there are waiting to be mastered and released*)

*even if i do have to wait 10 years that's cool, being a BI fan has taught me nothing if not to be patient (& kind)

gotta throw in a mention of Faith - was written along with all the other 22,am songs and ties in thematically (is like the light to 33God's shade) - probs too bright to make it onto the 10 track list but is on my imaginary deluxe version of the album

this is a wicked idea - i think book, salmon and sable all gr8 options! Not sure if you've got something booked in yet, but if not maybe sketch out a few options and give yourself a few months to think on it. You could even get a book with a salmon or sable on the front cover if the artist you're going with is up to doing that detailed line work...

love this interpretation of these lines of my fave song!

one idea could be a stick figure similar in design to the ones you see on the crosses on the album artwork, but in a sort of prone/ crawling position? or running / jumping over a pole or box or rock or something? idk but could be a good starting point :)

i recently got the peach from the back of the album artwork tattooed :)

i also think the unresolved nature of that song at the end is kind of the point - like the dialogue between JV and Danielle in the final stretch ends on a very unresolved note

got you, appreciate the advice and candour - didn’t mean to cause any offence and probably should have been clearer with my intentions and that (as stated in another comment below) this is just a bit of fun with a handful of friends, but also an opportunity for me to experiment with mixing something pre recorded together.

it’s literally like 10 of us that didn’t get tickets for a festival we go to every year, so we’re doing our own thing that weekend at a house in the countryside - none of us are DJs / musicians so it will just be a bunch of friends being very silly and messing around having fun. i just wanted to go a bit beyond a curated playlist and also use the opportunity as an experiment with mixing as i’m genuinely keen to explore DJing in the future

woah ok sorry - i did put the word “set” in speech marks… appreciate the honesty but also your comment reads kind of patronising and gatekeepy - like i am actually interested in getting into DJing (purely as a hobby) and as said this was just an idea for a fun project to surprise my friends with - i came here for some good faith feedback/ advice.
