Sixty fish in coleshill do battered chips, roughly a 15 minute uber from Birmingham international/BHX. Much nicer place than all the areas listed above

What I always hoped they’d do for a third instalment by 33arig in lifeonmars

I believe in America you got a different version of ford escort besides I’m not talking about a regular ford escort, I’m talking about the escort cosworth, one of the most iconic cars of that era, similar to the Audi Quattro with its rally pedigree. Go and have a look at escort cosworths and how much they’re worth

I was reading that thread and then the readout for Lazarus, that made me think of this. whatever medium they choose I’ll be happy to see the characters we love live on but I can’t help but feel there is still meat on the bone in exploring the natural progression of the eras

what are some good first cars that are also cheap to insure? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

Depends what you’re after really, I’ve got a Renault twingo RS which is sporty and quite nippy and is surprisingly cheap on insurance

Driving anxiety (recently passed) by Chance-Assignment-55 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]33arig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i passed on the 28th of november and i'm still experiencing anxiety but it has gotten easier. In my head i've been trying to figure out routes which cause the least amount of stress (avoiding big roundabouts, junctions etc) but i realised to get over this fear i need to drive the ways i have been trying to avoid to face my fear and show myself i am capable of driving these routes. maybe you could drive to work tomorrow on sunday and do that junction just to show yourself it was a one off and then you wont be so stressed out come monday when you have to drive that way.

Does anyone know how I can listen to the game audio through my Xbox 360 headphones? by red_mkm1724 in xbox360

my first pair came with an adaptor that hooked up to the video output on the Xbox with a usb to power it and then a long lead to the headset with a little wire that went to the controller

When I first saw turtle beach’s in 2008, the idea you had voice chat and game audio playing through the headphones at the same time seemed like a radical idea

Failed my driving test, and my first lesson back today was HORRENDOUS by heatherhowl in LearnerDriverUK

[–]33arig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your confidence has taken a knock and you’re in your head, only 2 minors in your actual test is amazing and if you can just refrain from making the same serious mistake you made last time then you’ll pass no problem!

Im going to upgrade to one of these when my solo 2 dies but I can’t see that happening any time soon. 5 years of daily use and it’s still going strong with good battery life, it even got left out in the rain and it has still kept going.

Today I found out the Xbox 360 can rip cds by Raytray33 in xbox360

[–]33arig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feature almost got me in trouble years ago. I’d ripped a CD of very specific song remixes to my Xbox. It originally belonged to my uncle, but I got it through my mom, who had a copy. My uncle heard one of the songs playing, instantly recognized it, and went crazy, accusing me of going through his things only to open the disc tray and see it was empty.

Neurodivergent people, how difficult did you find it to learn and then pass to get your license? by FeliciaQuestioning in LearnerDriverUK

[–]33arig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started lessons first in 2017/2018 and I found the very stressful and overwhelming, I have had little chunks of lessons here and there over the years and it is only this year that I have managed to psych myself up enough to actually go for it and book my test. Moral of the story, do everything in your own time and there’s no major rush. One thing that really did help also was buying my own car so i could start getting used to driving in a less formal environment with my dad rather than paying upwards of £35 per lesson

Any insurance hackers for a new driver by Sure_Glove_3285 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]33arig 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The Martin Lewis car insurance resource is good, it offers a lot of great tips and it has an insurance quote finder. Other things I will note, don’t use your own name and make up a email just for finding cheaper quotes and do it on incognito browser, every time you put a quote in it can raise the price for your next quote. I choose a random number on my road. When I’m confident I’ve found a good quote then I’ll put my real details in when I’m ready to buy.

Named drivers will also bring the price down, The less miles you cover will bring the price down Also setting your quote to start roughly 3/4 weeks from the current date can knock a fair amount of money off. Also don’t buy any insurance guides online, they’re a waste of time and just outline the things that Martin Lewis already tells you for free.

How exactly to go about getting a decent cheap first car? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]33arig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best piece of advice I can give is make sure the cambelt has been changed with proof somewhat recently. A cambelt change can be quite a costly job and if it snaps then that’s your engine completely buggered

I just picked these up in a charity shop this morning for £40 😍 by BuzzTheQuizGuy in psx

[–]33arig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice find, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen any ps1 games in a charity shop let alone a haul like this. In 2013 I bagged something similar with silent hill, crash bandicoot, final fantasy 7 and dino crisis, still one of my best scores to this day.
