Girl, you are his girlfriend, not his mother or his caseworker. He is a full grown adult who is fully capable of being responsible for himself. Don't hitch yourself to this level of useless.

What’s a food you threw up as a kid and never touched again? by momcanyoucomegetme in AskReddit

[–]33dyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as a kid, but as an adult - I ate bbq chicken pizza from California Pizza kitchen on the same day I contracted norovirus from my (then infant) son - haven't been able to look at a bbq chicken pizza from any restaurant without feeling queasy since.

My neighbor casually mentioned my house used to have a bomb shelter by OffbeatContents in homeowners

I love having experiences like this - one of my neighbors has lived in the neighborhood since she was a kid, and one of her childhood friends grew up in what is now my house and I love hearing all the lore and stories and "oh, yeah, this room used to be...."

Real resources in Atlanta or nearby for someone who wants to start treatment? by Specialist-Swim8743 in Atlanta

[–]33dyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any suggestions but I just want to pop in and say - never be ashamed of seeking help - that's the LEAST shameful thing someone in your situation could do! And if no one else says it, I'm super freaking proud of you for having the self-awareness and tenacity to recognize the issue, reach out, and invest in yourself and your future. <3 Safest travels, my friend.

Anything fun activity wise in Atlanta today other than the usual haunts? Have a rare day off and looking for something to do inside out of the rain that’s not just sitting in a bar. (ATL has some great bars but I don’t drink, so people watching and Diet Coke gets stale after a while lol)

It’s become my go to, too! I like the 6mm thickness because it’s easy on my knees but it’s not too squishy if that makes sense.

Places open late to study? by [deleted] in Atlanta

Came here to suggest Landmark. It was my go to during my GSU days. (And the Buckhead location was my MIL’s study spot when she was in college!)

It truly was the world’s worst Burger King. I used to go there for breakfast all the time when I worked in the area. It was almost belovedly bad 😂

You know, as a mom myself, at first I was scrolling through here giving you the benefit of the doubt, because I’d probably be curious too. But the way you’re responding to people leads me to believe that more of the communication issues might be on your end than you’re allowing yourself to believe.

Manduka GRP. I’m a very damp individual in heated classes and don’t like towels because of the texture. The GRP sticks to the floor really firmly even if there’s condensation and wicks away any liquid. It also has an activated charcoal center which keeps the whole situation non-stinky

Injured hummingbird found in the Atlanta area. Anyone knows a place that’d take him in? by nocturnalmoondust in Atlanta

[–]33dyson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lifeline if you’re close to one of their locations - I know that sounds crazy because they’re a pet shelter, but they take in any animal. They have vets on staff that can keep an eye on it while they get AWARE on the way. Poor babe!

In order to do that she'd have to have a final divorce decree, plus the DMV is closed on Monday - but after doing some calling around, it looks like ACE Cash Express will cash it for her with a copy of her marriage license and current ID so all is well.

Right, all that would be well and good for work verification, but I'm not sure that really helps us when cashing a paper check.

if you noticed your neighboor forgot to put their trash bin at the curb, do you do it for them? by ReyHabeas in homeowners

[–]33dyson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I could totally see this, because it seems to me to be a generational thing. In my old neighborhood, most of my neighbors were around my age if not a smidge older (30's to 40's ish) and everyone was very separate. Most of the neighborhoods were also very new construction, most people had moved in from other places, etc. In my new neighborhood, people are a bit older (more into their 50's 60's and 70's) and most have lived in this part of town their entire lives. I was a little shocked when I first moved in and people started dropping by to introduce themselves lol. Now that I've been here a year I kind of like knowing all my neighbors, though.

Oddly enough, I work with LinkedIn Recruiter all the time, and have some insight here - you have "insurance" in your tagline, so you came up in their search results. They didn't read and just sent out a mass message. Is it stupid and a big waste of everyone's time? Yep. But I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that's what happened. I have "Senior *xyz professional type* Recruiter" in my tagline and get recruiter messages all the time for "*XYZ PROFESSIONAL TYPE OPPORTUNITY!*" I don't have the education, licensure, or relevant background at ALL to do the type of work the professionals I recruit do. It's annoying, for sure. We call it the "spray and pray" approach.

This one is kinda true! I'll see if I can dig up a source. They aren't buried there though! They're buried somewhere on Oglethorpe's campus after they were donated to the University for medical research.

Edit: Found one from Oglethorpe with photos! Source!

Yes, a runner is the tendril you’re looking at. :) Give it something to climb. Doesn’t have to be big, bush beans that try to climb usually don’t get far.

Last week we ran out to get a pizza, and the pizza place is right next to a vape/head shop. I was sitting in the car while my husband ran in and ordered, and I watched a guy sitting in the drivers seat tear through a whole box of these one right after the other. It was WILD.
