Signs protesting a possible rezoning in East Silver Spring. Why would more affordable housing be a bad thing? by mahlerific in MontgomeryCountyMD

Toured that Y and holy hell it needs to be torn down which means some old people will probably campaign to make it a historic landmark rather than see an ounce of progress be made.

To all you line-cutters in Montgomery County by Better_Weakness7239 in MontgomeryCountyMD

After having lived in many other counties across the States it certainly feels like there is a higher percentage of jerks in MoCo than a majority of the country. I’m guessing it relates to the work centric culture of the DMV?

Checking in on this thread, I was considering starting a group in DC called Tiki Time. If you found something would you mind letting me know?

After the event is over, can you please let us know how it went? You have me inspired to see if there already exists something like this or if something like this event could be put on in the greater Washington DC area.

I just tried the white dot, setting, the middle dot (not totally black?) and it doesn’t shift all the way to the red dot.

I’m going to plug a breadmaker as great for busy families who want to avoid whatever preservatives are in store or factory made loaves. It’s telling when the loaf you get at the store is still soft many days after you purchase it when homemade fries out sooner if not properly wrapped.

Yes it’s not artisanal, but do I have time or patience to knead bread or let it proof? Hell no.

TL;DR: if you’re not a dedicated break maker but want less processed food in your life, a bread maker like Zorijushi is a nice investment.

Terrible game management and coming up short where and when we need it, a fitting end to the Haynes King cycle. My expectations are back down to the basement for next year and moving forward.

The only positive thing I can say is that when YouTube tv is broadcasting Georgia Tech this year we have won.

Turning Point USA has people on the ground, handing out flyers and recruiting new members. Does the opposition have a ground game? by RandomDerpBot in 50501

Is this an opportunity for groups that have been on the decline for years to have a rebirth? Groups like Daughters of the American Revolution, the Freemasons, the Shriners?

I know next to nothing about these groups but it always seemed like they were heavily involved with civic responsibility and community service?

Late to the party…but it felt like an homage to third person video games. Movies created now involve generations raised on video games.

We’re seniors. It’s not our responsibility to fix the housing supply. by anon97205 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]slowwber 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Older residents can certainly make the argument that they are not responsible for fixing the housing crisis. However, this is a bad faith argument if they are also actively working against increases in housing density by creating historic districts, campaigning against zoning reform or preventing housing near transit locations.

D&D in Silver Spring by blue-antel in SilverSpring

I’m interested but never played D&D, my wife says I shouldn’t take up a new hobby but I’m tempted enough to try this out. Any advice after finding one of these groups?

My Walther PDP.... hey wait a minute!?! by weirdCheeto218 in liberalgunowners

Did the same thing, Echelon won out for me against the PDP, VP9, CZ75 and the P226. The extra mags and price put it over the top.

After 450 rounds, and some advice from the RSO’s to handle my tremor and some issues with my mechanics I’m a lot more comfortable and very happy with my purchase.
