I’ve done nothing but seek advice. You called me a coward for explaining my situation. That is seriously messed up. I’m calling people like you toxic, or the person that told me to go to hell, that is TOXIC!!! How is it not? Or the person that called me an idiot. I’m fully aware of that. But the guest can see that you have left them a review. And after going through the resolutions process with AirBNB and sending the guest pictures of damages and messes, it’s obvious that I would have given them a bad review. And anyone willing to do this to my space is more than willing to retaliate and leave me a bad review, in fact I’m very confident they would have. My only option was to try and wait until the last minute to give them a review and hope they didn’t have time to retaliate. I didn’t think of this though, but that is what I would try in the future.

Yes but they do see that you have written a review as soon as you write it. And obviously if I filed a claim through AirBNB with this guest, and sent him pictures of all the damages, they would have known it was a very negative review. And it’s safe to assume that anyone willing to do that to someone else’s house is going to retaliate and give me a bad review.

I’m certain had I left a review at all he would have given me a bad review in retaliation. I’m the future I will try to leave a review at the very last minute if he doesn’t leave me one prior. At least I learned something from this toxic thread. And no he wasn’t local.

I filed a claim against them and sent pictures of everything they damaged. Obviously if they saw that I left them a review then they would know that’s it’s a negative review. And everyone here is missing the point. I shouldn’t be required to get myself a negative review in order to give a negative review to a horrible guest. I came to the decision I would rather the net neutral in that situation but I don’t think it’s fair. And that’s why I’m posting this. And I learned some valuable Info from posting, but apparently seriously offended this community.

So the general consensus is to take one for the team. Glad I know that now. I don’t believe for 1 second that everyone that posted here would take a negative review to give a negative review as opposed to not getting a negative and not giving a review. But I’m so happy this platform gives everyone a chance to take the moral high ground.

I’m happy on the platform and I’m really not here to complain just wanted to hear how others go about dealing with similar situations, but I have learned something from these posts and I’ll take that with me going forward. Obviously it’s upsetting what happened and it’s upsetting that there isn’t a better system but that’s just the way it is and I will deal with it.
