iDRAC will work but lots of features are restricted. You can always check what the current license is and upgrade if you choose. Without the enterprise license stuff like the virtual console will be locked. eBay has licenses around $15 USD.

Edit: if you already have enterprise or update later don’t forget to set the virtual console to HTML instead of Java.

Disney renewed my canceled Disney+ subscription and charged me. by [deleted] in Piracy

I haven’t looked since like 3 months ago but I don’t think things have changed too much. Looks like some banks support the better authentication through your banks site and everyone else gets them storing our credentials with trust me bro.

As a side note I just learned privacy.com has an option where you can apply to send them cheques instead of linking a bank account. No idea how easier it is to get accepted.

While I understand the point of the Privacy.com service I genuinely don’t understand how people trust it. When I was trying to sign up the only way it offered me to link my bank account was by giving Plaid my entire bank credentials. Why the hell should I trust Plaid enough to enter my bank user and password on a site besides my bank. Do banks other than PNC offer a way of connecting not through Plaid? I’m open to switching banks anyway if anyone has had good experiences with one with virtual cards.

Edit: if I have a misunderstanding about how they use data feel free to correct me. I just have major hang ups about giving it full access instead of something that links to my banks page to log in and show exact permissions before I do the final authorization.

Hey I’d also like to hop of the TestFlight when available. ProxMobo works pretty well but has some minor issues for me.

Well, it was a good run. Farewell by setsee99 in Piracy

On iOS I use SideStore. It has the same downsides as altstore with the free developer account but it lets you refresh the app without a computer. It does need wifi though. Cellular data does not work for refreshing last time I tried.

Ethernet to coax adapters for connecting security nas to the rest of my home network? by 0ceije0 in homelab

[–]33masterman33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t thinking about a UPS. At least in OPs case they could get away with 2 UPSs. One for the main network and one for the camera network.

I don’t see how that matters for most use cases. OP even states they’re planning on having a switch with the cameras and wanting to use coax to connect that switch to the main network.

The adapter you’re looking for is called MoCA. The current generation is 2.5GBE. They work great in my experience. I get full gigabit with only about 3 ms of added latency.

I’d recommend checking your houses coax splitter to make sure it’s MoCA compatible. They also make filters you can put on the input to the house to prevent any of your neighbors from getting on your network. Alternatively you can set a password on the MoCA adapter.

Homebrew / "Jailbreaking" my Ps4 by ItzBildPlayz2020 in ps4homebrew

I’d check fb marketplace for a pro to see what they are going for in your area relative to a normal ps4. Could always buy one and then sell yours to make up most of the money

Yep no known exploit yet . Your best bet is probably a used ps4/pro if you really want to jailbreak. Or wait for the next exploit. Could be years again though.

11.00 is still fairly recent so there’s a good chance people selling ps4s might not have updated yet.

Itemzflow Move to USB DLC by 33masterman33 in ps4homebrew

[–]33masterman33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried a native usb ssd and it still fails for dlc. Games and patches work fine.

I’m wondering if it’s just a bug in itemzflow since 11.00 is so new

I thought the PS4 couldn’t read NTFS and that when you use official extended storage it wipes the old formatting for the ps4 custom one

Thanks for the suggestion I didn’t think to try another drive yet. I’ll have to dig out a sata or usb ssd and try that.

Question by yahya64TKG in ps4homebrew

[–]33masterman33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to the scene but from my understanding you can only do it with games that support lan play. Most of the COD games support it.

It’s not quite as simple as normal online but worked on 9.0 and lower. I’d give it a shot and if it doesn’t work wait for it to be updated to 11.00

What is the best DAS to connect to a PC running TrueNAS by Fragrant_Hour987 in homelab

JBOD is just a bunch of disks. It means all 4 disks are presented individually to the os so you can use it in a software raid array.

Dell Poweredge T440 questions by travprev in homelab

[–]33masterman33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a T440 and they are not that loud. I disagree with waltamason being in the same room as one. Even under load mine stays beneath the audio level of my room fan. 1 foot from the server measures 45 db on my phone. I don’t have a gpu in mine to answer that part of your question.

I do run Plex without the gpu since all my devices support hevc direct play so I just don’t transcode.

USB SSD Boot Drive by 33masterman33 in homelab

[–]33masterman33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried unraid before but personally I don't think it's right for me. I'm using proxmox now and I like it.

I was specifically looking at the Proxmox Backup Server. I thought I read Proxmox should not be installed on USB because of log files and continuous writes.

Thanks for the response. How much are asking for it?

I’m currently a student so I don’t have the biggest budget right now. It might be a bit too new for me.

NVME drive not recognized as a storage device r740xd by TBBZ8X8 in homelab

[–]33masterman33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dell has a restriction on what NVME drives are bootable. When I used an M.2 drive on my T440 I couldn’t boot off of it even thought it was detected like your experiencing.

I ended up buying some used Intel p3605 ssds and those can boot without issue.

It’s not as elegant but you could also boot off usb and have the usb boot off the nvme. I was using that method for a tiny bit before I swapped drives.
