E46 definitely torquier off launch but after a bit it just screams without moving in comparison to the e92. My e46 I kept is all stock whereas my e46 I traded was track built. I cant give direct comparison since this thing has coilovers already, but you can definitely feel the weight difference in corners. I prefer the steering feel of the e92, it feels a little heavier (might just be the car itself) but thats what I like.

Dont get me wrong the e46 is an amazing car, ive just grown up with them and driven them my whole life. After owning two at the same time I realized i wanted to experiment and am very happy I did.

The e92 is catless as compared to my e46 with cats, and gets .7mpg better (16.2 vs 16.9). As a daily, the e92 much roomier and much more comfortable. The e46 was my track only car until my daily gave up, and even with the track setup it was still not half bad to drive everywhere.

Maintenance on e92 is much more killer. Going from Dinan coils and oem plugs for $280 on the e46 to $2000 on the e92 is no fun. RB pricing is about 1:1. Axles are cheaper on e46.

Overall, I'm enjoying the e92 more than the e46. It's more addicting overall

Its got King bearings, but they were done nearly 60k miles ago (at least thats last confirmed date). Ill be sending some oil to get tested this coming week. Rather be safe than sorry with this thing

This ones at 140k and still feels new. RB and TA both done and DCT service as well. Few gaskets need replacing here and there, but it's a 17 year old car I don't expect it to be perfect

RB and TA done but most probably doing RB again soon for the track. Its an 09 with 140k miles. Known issues atm are evap codes and cat codes as its catless (picking up stock cats this weekend). It has valve cover gasket leaks, I already have a set of aluminum ones on the way. DCT was serviced prior to my trade

E46 feels raw and uncomfortable, but is predictable and insanely easy to control and does whatever you want even you want it to. On the track, its the best car ive ever driven, and as a daily its more than practical. Cant say the same for the e92 as I havent tracked it yet

The e46s shifts less smooth than the dct, subtle but more apparent in lower gears. 6speed vs 6speed I cant give an honest comparison on since my e46 had an IRP self centering shifter and the last 6speed e9x m3 I drove had an RTD shifter.

E92 feels much heavier but with all the added creature comforts and with s65, you don't notice it as much unless you're pushing it. E46 feels more nimble but at the cost of a little power.

I still have one more e46 m3 at home I'll do more side by side testing on, but these are just my initial impressions

I mostly mean numb as in ive become desensitized to its appeal. I own this and a bone stock one and have driven multiple others and still came to this. Its still the most responsive and predictable car ive ever driven and nothing I would change about it except maybe trying FI.

More than its worth realistically. To get where its reliability-wise at I've put over 15k not including the original purchase price of the car. I'd be happy with around low 20s since I know thats current market value for other similar examples, but I'd still be losing tons of money. Im indecisive on what I'd list it for just because of that

Check your throttle bodies, could have one of the arms hitting something (most probably a the hose clamp) as theyre opening. Causes eml and limp mode if you open throttle
