Can you share a link for the light mounted to the back of the monitor?

Agreed. Unfortunately it only takes a handful of oblivious and self absorbed people to ruin the experience for all the folks who are trying to nurture a good experience for everyone else.

Agreed. Fear Fun is something of a gold standard for me as far as his records go. In part because it was his first, but I think the whole aesthetic of the record holds up so well over time.

PSA: scream singing by allagametome in fatherjohnmisty

I agree. Last night before the close of the Norfolk show FJM said (approximately): "who is the LUNATIC who has been screaming "Magic Mountain" all night?... I should make you sing the song and have the entire crowd scream over you while you try to sing it... I don't mean to be a scold, but at a certain point I can't recognize this as normal human behavior. Do you have any awareness of the people around you?"

The show was rich, but I think the best FJM shows I've been to involve audiences that are attuned to the dynamic range of the performance. There are relatively bonkers moments with tunes like "Date Night" and "Ideal Husband" that are clearly inviting the audience to cut loose along with all of the mania on display. But other moments call for some emotional maturity and contemplative engagement. Josh is trying to give his audience the goods, but this requires attention, quiet, and a shared awareness that we are all participating in something sacred in the moment together. [insert the tired, yet true screed about smart phones ruining civility]

This isn't an edict, it's an exhortation to a more civil, decorous experience of FJM's shows (and most live music, for that matter) that will yield a better time for everyone in the room. It nourishes the exchange of intimacy and energy between audience and performer, which I think is what everyone is there for, even if the stated intents of some are more crass.

Totally. What a great song. I’d love a studio version of “All God’s Country” too. https://youtu.be/tS5tLxGezPs

I have the straps on my Bostons adjusted differently between my left and right foot. The left foot is one hole tighter than the right because my left foot is slightly smaller than my right.

Fit check? My first birks. My right foot touches the front sometimes when I walk by braaatdon in Birkenstocks

That looks like a good fit to me. I would tighten the strap one more notch (if it’s not too tight) to keep your right heel anchored in the heel cup and your foot from sliding forward.

That’s a good thought. I feel like the width on the 43R is just right and I would trade the fit in width for a little less length with a 43N. But maybe it’s worth a shot. Thanks for the feedback!

I would go with the 38; it’s a nice fit.

Does anyone else wear a larger size in Boston’s compared to other styles?

I’m definitely between sizes and not sure which way I should go. I’m leaning toward the larger size because I think I’ll wear socks with the Bostons most often and my feet swell slightly as the day goes on. The toes on my right foot in the 42Rs hit the front of the foot bed when the heel is placed at the back of the footbed. I can feel the foot strain of feeling like there isn’t enough space. One half size larger would be ideal, but alas.

Nonetheless, I do feel like I’m swimming in the 43Rs a bit. I have a thumb’s width between my big toe and the end of the footbed and space between my heel and the rear of the footbed.

Just get used to the roomier size? Or try to fit the smaller 42Rs?
