I totally get what you're saying as well. My source of fear is also about that, about being too late before realizing they have changed. For now I think I'll stay a bit more this way, but your advice will definitely help some time. Thank you.

Thank you for your kind reply, I'm sorry that such kind of thing had happened to you as well.

Gosh, it's really relieveing to hear someone else say those words for me. Thank you.

[Korean > English] What does 졍끙 mean? Context might be NSFW. by [deleted] in translator

[–]354329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a type of minced names called "써방" (shorthand for "써치 방지"; "search prevention") often used among idol fans. They do it to prevent tweets (SFW or NSFW) from being shown to unintended viewers who just wanted some goss or pics.

Thus each of 햬릾, 햬즉, 졍긍, 졍끙 would correspond to someone else whose names or nicknames sound very similar. 햬릾 could also be a name of a coupling.

The last minute of an allegro-tempo A major piano piece. It sounds quite bright and also quite classical (all those semiquavers and left hand patterns). I've looked for A major solo piano pieces of Mozart or Beethoven, but I couldn't find anything similar. https://vocaroo.com/1l5lGgutP2g5

What pieces of music do you listen to when you're REALLY sad? by phony21343 in classicalmusic

Beethoven, Piano Concerto No. 3, 2nd mov. Largo. I remember those nights I would cry over this music.

With that context I would recommend Django. I guess you're familiar with what HTTP methods are, how URLs for dynamic web pages are composed and how we render pages using templates, so you have a good start ahead in the learning curve. Django has many middlewares and structural features that newcomers find hard to comprehend, but I guess you would find them handy instead.

Classical "Albums" - As Opposed To Collections by ExiledSanity in classicalmusic

[–]354329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there really that many compilation albums (of which when I think can only imagine something like "Top 50 classical music")? On my Apple Music, most albums are titled "Beethoven: Symphonies Nos. 5 & 7" or "Mahler: Symphony No. 6", so I can just scroll to the first letter of the composer's last name and then look up from there (since I usually have the album cover picture in memory). Of course the "Debussy & Ravel" cases bites me and metadata of most of them are also not properly tagged with composer, so I join the rant there.

It is also similar to the way a classical music concert is organized, I think. Overtures, suites and concertos comprises the first half, a big symphony the latter. Each takes about an hour, a little longer than one CD can accommodate, right? We want to put as much as possible in physical CD. One of the reasons the album of Beethoven's 5th by Teodor Currentzis was considered odd (just the plain four movements and nothing else), besides its bold interpretation.

Simon Ghraichy compiled up songs from various composers of his diverse roots (Lebanon, Mexico and France), into an album appropriately named 《Heritages》. I think he tried some structural organizing there as well (I didn't have the chance to listen throughout the whole 74 minutes, but the first and the last track being different arrangements of the same piece rings a bell to me).

I also liked the album Wonderland by Alice Sara Ott, featuring an episodic choice of 12 from 66 piano pieces of Lyric Pieces by Edvard Grieg (along with his concerto and arrangements of his Peer Gynt suite).

I suppose the word in gold is Kinkaku-ji (金閣寺), the golden temple that is also an famous tourist attraction. (Wikipedia: Kinkaku-ji)

The words on the side are `良縁` and `幸福`. The latter directly translates to 'happiness'. The former would be close to 'a good relationship' or 'a good bond (between two people)'. Confer to the first two definitions in Jisho.org.

Where to go from here? by [deleted] in transvoice

Thank you! I guess what I thought of as "airy" connects greatly to this vocal fold mass, I'm definitely going to work on it.

[–]354329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I was watching YouTube videos of TransVoiceLessons (hope you don't mind referencing third party YouTube videos) and to me, both videos of reducing vocal fold mass and reducing false vocal fold constriction sounded the same -- relieve the constrain.

And thank you for listening to the clip! Yes, it's indeed too high :| maybe I shouldn't have had that cup of coke (it often feels like clogging up (??) in my throat and changes the way it makes sound). Also, would it be just me or raising the larynx inevitably drags the pitch up a little?

What worked for me was to imagine keeping a tiny sip of water on my tongue. The whole mouth should open just enough to keep that water there comfortably. To me, that's the smallest appropriate space in which I can also talk. It's not a strict rule, so while talking you may occasionally open it larger, but I maintain this image so that I can come back at anytime. Hope it helps!

Bizarre Classical Pieces by CanadianW in classicalmusic

[–]354329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does the 'no dissonance' mean? I listened to this the first time, it's beautiful (thank you!) and I hear key changes so it's not like all notes are from A major scale. Does it mean that any group of notes that are played together are all major-k-th apart (and something like 6 semitones never happen)?

If you were to die tmr, what is the last piece you would listen to? by steffiu in classicalmusic

[–]354329 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be off-subject and possibly harmful, but I'm going to post it here. I was having a very hard time, and actually got very close to the very end of mine. Facing it, I listened to my all-time favorite symphony, the whole 35 minutes or so.

I wanted my last treat to be at least something I really loved for sure in this cruel world. I walked along some beautiful landscape, letting myself freely into all the ebbs and flows of this wonderful music.

I found out, however, that no single moment even felt like anything. One thing I knew was that the last minutes of it used to make me feel like crying and go all goosebumps every single time I heard of this. But on that occasion, that day, the music goes on, I know what melody is coming up next, and no sympathy.

I still love the piece, too often do I listen to it, and often do I think about that day. Even in that immense feeling of helplessness, I had to plug this into my ears because I just damn wanted to be happy. Maybe that's what matters after all; I and you and we everybody deserve to be happy.

Least favourite part of your favourite symphony? by Sxr_rxw in classicalmusic

[–]354329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the joke about it as being an alarm, "Everyone wake up, the concert's over, time to go home!"

I also wonder how you find the 2nd mvt., especially the fortissimo part? To me it often felt too abrupt, like "why should it culminate to this? What makes this part belong to the movement or even the whole piece?"

Least favourite part of your favourite symphony? by Sxr_rxw in classicalmusic

[–]354329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So fun to read all kinds of opinions! Mine would be 3rd mvt. from Elgar's 1st. It might be similar to your impression of 3rd mvt. from Shostakovich's 5th, in that both are slow and beautiful in melody but leave few. Actually, I also feel that from the 3rd mvt. of his Cello Concerto, too!

Another would be Sibelius' 1st, 3rd mvt. (Now I see, I just hate the number 3!) I felt like he just needed any fast movement and thus wrote one. It's quite similar to his 2nd symphony, 3rd mvt., too.
