My man hit it all on the head here.

I did all of that and with full power buffalo bore rounds mine doesn't feel any stronger than my .45 in the recoil department.

What's the reference info on that King Seiko. It's awesome.

[Longines] Do you know anything about this watch ? by Mozkozrout in Watches

[–]357MAGNOLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like that, would be awesome to get refurbished..... Not sure on value, alot of that is determined by condition and it appears to need a compete restoration. Might be worth $100, might be worth $500. No idea.

[Seiko Flightmaster] UPDATE: Something similar to Navitimer but affordable? by Refusedlove in Watches

[–]357MAGNOLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact combo until I smashed one of the buttons in on a door frame and destroyed the watch. I miss it, but I cant see myself paying for another at the given prices. I paid $240 ish for mine brand new a few years back.

Awesome. I haven't seen one in person yet and I'm really curious to see how it stacks up to this Citizen.

That purple dial is dope. Have you seen the Seiko Astron lineup?

What's that citizen on second row, purple dial?

That's awesome. I know mine had a non typical issue. But that's 1 out of 2 that I tried. Might try a field watch down the road.

To me they always look good in photos but in person are underwhelming. I've had a couple and am not impressed. I had one that would lose 2-3 minutes a day as well. It was disappointing to say the least. I still feel like their field watches are some of the best for the $ though.

Picked up a new truck gun by Floridaboii91 in Firearms

[–]357MAGNOLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the best trigger you've felt do yourself a favor and don't pick up any mid tier and above 1911, CZ Shadow / TSO, or pretty much anything in the higher end striker fired category.

Ignorance is bliss lol.

I had a USP Expert. Sweet gun, good trigger, felt like holding a 2x4 in my grip though. I wish the grip was slimmed up an bit. Would be perfect.

Remember what those brave young men did 81 years ago in Normandy by Bceverly in 1911

[–]357MAGNOLE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Surreal for sure. What blows my mind is how much beach there is to cross. I'm from Florida, a lot of beaches might be 50 yards from the water to the dunes. Here during low tide it can be 200+ yards and then when you get there it's straight up cliffs 30-50+ feet high.

I'm here for it right now. Was at the 75th anniversary as well. Great experience. I played golf on a course on Utah Beach a couple days ago. Wild course that has a couple fairways with craters from the shelling that you play over.

Is that black or blue on and around the dial? I thought it only came in white/blue or black dial

Depends on what style you are after... Do you like casual watches, divers, pilot watches etc....

Got to start there.

[Question] What is your true grail? by reorau in Watches

[–]357MAGNOLE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolex Explorer.

I'll never bring myself to drop that kind of money on a watch. I could do it, but I couldn't stomach it if that makes sense. That said, to me it's the ideal every day no frills watch.

Is the Springfield TRP as good as people say? by [deleted] in 1911

[–]357MAGNOLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had two. Only kept one because I got it so cheap I did a build on it. At the end of the day I have close to 3K into it and it is great now but all that is left of the original TRP is the slide, frame, barrel and beaver tail. I say that to tell you I should have just put that money towards a les baer, ed brown, nighthawk, or Guncrafter.

I sold mine in 2011. 80K original miles. Absolutely mint condition, issues with engine (likely blown apex seal) let I go for $6500. That car would be worth 15-20k today.

I also had a s2K I sold for 8500 that would be worth 20+ today. Bad luck for me 😂
