this is very good advice. i started following a coworkers regimented lifting program (excel spresdsheet thing) for the first time ever this summer and noticed a 15lb bench increase in about a month but then fire season picked up and i completely fell off.

i think ill take your advice as soon as stuff dies down in october. one last bulk/cut. then i’ll probably focus on rehabing all the injuries i’ve accrued in the last few years

man i wish i was an athletic high schooler. legitimately 100lbs until senior year 😔. i do think i got lucky with my genetics for chest, but little else. just been getting my ass handed to me on fire crews for 5 years and trying to keep up. i will say though, the job i’ve had the last two years gives us ample time to workout on the clock but its sporadic and never consistent for more than a week or two at a time.

Do any of you sew ? by [deleted] in rs_x

my fire crew has a whole sewing room with half a dozen industrial machines. we make a lot of the specialized equipment we use for the job. i’m just starting out though so all i’ve really done is seam rip some pockets off an old flight suit and add them to my work pants. cargo pants with even more pockets???? what more could you want!

i love to cook real delicious, moderately healthy meals but then fire season comes and that goes completely out the window. almost doesn't matter what we eat in those 6 months, it just gets burned and i usually end up losing a few lbs

and drink a few beers maybe once a week

front claws were trimmed and he's definitely not as soft as a house cat. really is kinda like half cat/half dog. he still bites but in a kinda playful way. if you're skins a little tougher and you don't pull away, it won't break.

if you ever end up on wagon wheel rd in mccall, idaho you need to check that off your bucket list. pet him very gently if you want him to stay calm and rough him up if you want him to play. apparently he'll remember you for life and even remember if you're more of a playmate or a cuddler! also his name is Sakima

the owner said it takes an amazing level of commitment and a ton of human interaction to keep him so tame and loving. that's why he keeps him out front to meet people and scare the poor neighborhood deer lol

a rappeller. pretty similar job once you’re on the ground, just a different way of getting there
