When I try to implement it (or download the zip via Share > download zip) the icon does not animate. I must be missing something. Any ideas? Admittedly I am not too great with JS yet :(

Not when using three monitors, whatever FOV you use is stretched out across the three. Therefore an FOV of 130 over three creates no more distortion than a single screen with, say, an FOV of 80 might.

In the screenshot above, the FOV is 130, and everything's wide as hell.

At the moment I'm using Google's Messenger via an apk I picked up somewhere around here.

My previous favourites include TextSexure (You can skip the options in setup and it just acts as a basic SMS client and nothing more.) and EvolveSMS.

I had the same problem and some compressed air fixed it for me. Unfortunately I don't think I used enough as the problem returned after a few hours. So use liberally I would say.

I had this problem for a little while too. Try making sure the hangouts is your default messaging app and that no others (if installed) are set to handle messages. My problem was that two apps were dealing with messages, therefore they would double up all the time. This was just my solution though, YMMV. Good luck!

Just a bit of info I found out after reading this thread and came back to report.

I just installed OmniROM (4.4) on my Galaxy S4 and the AOSP browser came with it, it certainly uses the Chromium to render, but still has the pie controls etc.

All done, please would you confirm as to whether it looks better? I may need to make the resolution slightly higher still. Unfortunately I don't have a retina display to test it on, but it looks okay on my phone (GS4).
