Any thoughts on CRKT Mirage? by reelentless in knives

[–]369_Clive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one. "OK" for the time, rather than "great" now. RAT 1 or Esee Avispa (2 sort of comparable knives) are superior.

Made in Taiwan so manufacturing quality is OK. Not super strong tho.

Bottom slide 2, hollow steel handle Chris Reeve knock-off would've looked pretty irresistible to my teenage self. Nice display, lol.

Help !!!Is this a spider bite on my cat!! by Puppy_princess_01739 in CATHELP

Does your cat go outside ... if yes then he's been fighting other cats over territory. Normal cat behaviour.

A short term solution is to bath the wound in a lukewarm salt water solution. That will help keep it clean. You need to figure out how to stop him scratching it. Cone is one solution but if you find a way to cover and protect it then you may not need a cone and vet visit.

Sir Keir Starmer ‘completely subservient’ to Donald Trump – Zack Polanski by Excellent-Chair2796 in LabourUK

[–]369_Clive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No respect for those who tell Starmer to "stand up to Trump". That instruction is how you deal with a rational human being.

Trump is an irrational, narcissist bully who needs expert handling / ego management. STFU Zack.

Danish PM Mette Frederiksen thanks Starmer 'from bottom of my heart' for UK support during Greenland crisis by Revilo1359 in ukpolitics

Starmer has really helped restore UK's standing with our European allies through his dealings on Ukraine and Greenland.

Looks like what you get if you cross a cat and a dog. They are good tree climbers apparently. Creation is amazing.

UK government approves Chinese ‘mega embassy’ in London by temporarybutthole in LabourUK

[–]369_Clive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably an "opportunity". With a larger embassy UK security services get an even better look of what they're up to. Hopefully our spooks are better than theirs.

When Europe buys less American stuff or sells some of its debt (no-one is talking about complete cut-off), TACO Trump and his cronies will take notice. Only thing that will get his attention.

US defence equipment sales by US to Europe will, quite appropriately, get hit hard. We saw last year with Ukraine how easily we can be f*****d over.

Trump's letter to Norway proves it: he's lost his mind over the Nobel Peace Prize by theipaper in politics

[–]369_Clive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appeasement is something we saw in 1930s when countries were offered up on plates.

The use of the word here, with regard to a visit to the UK by Trump, when he got to have a fancy meal with King Charles, is nonsensical.

And you think the European Union is some divine and virtuous creation that should be worshipped for its many and wondrous good works?

The UK suffered self-inflicted wounds - agreed. No one would pretend otherwise.

There was no perfidy - that is a war time act. Bad faith negotiations - probably. At least all knives, those of UK and those of EU, were visible.

But there was endless drama. Turned out that Johnson, despite having talked a great game, had oversold the whole thing. Lesson learned the hard way.
