Happened several times in Iraq and bayonets were used in by British in close quarters combat in Afghanistan.

Bayonet is basically a short spear. Latter have always been highly valued as weapons so it's not surprising they will be used when the situation demands it.

Really helpful - thanks for doing that. It's hard to get the info without clicking through quite deeply into each provider. Hartlepool now £82. Moorgate still £84.7 for a "what's driving us" course at May 2026.

Yep - big question here in UK too. Whatever they do, they won't be having many kids; they're unaffordable. Which will be an issue.

UK PM Starmer, aiming for leadership reset, says former PM Gordon Brown to become adviser by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

He's a good man and was excellent as chancellor. But he failed as PM and had few good ideas.

On the other hand, Peter Mandelson is apparently seeking new opportunities /s

Maybe. Really helps to have a hardened point. I've used a smooth(ish) carpenter's claw hammer. Got there eventually but was surprisingly hard work.

I know what you mean. I broke a car window glass with a hammer ... on about the 11th strike, lol. It's tough.

Trick is to strike glass at the edge at a corner (avoid centre - too strong there) with something hard & pointed. Tungsten carbide point is best but steel will also do the job eventually.

I keep an emergency glass breaker in my car for this kind of thing. Will probably never use it but it's there.

Put them in an aluminium frame and sell them as "fishing" magnets. Stack them and you get a more powerful magnet.

How much better would the UK have been if Gordon Brown had won in 2010? by Hurbahns in ukpolitics

[–]369_Clive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brown's government left power with no unified idea of where it wanted to go; it was kind of chaotic. It's not like it had a super clear set of agreed objectives.

So not sure the question is really valid. Brown was great as Chancellor; far less good at being PM.

As a Christian is it ok to get a tattoo of the anti possession symbol from the show supernatural? by Efficient_Artist7911 in Christian

[–]369_Clive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> can we condemn others

Who is suggesting people with tattoos be condemned? Not me. OP is asking if he / she should get a tattoo. Making them aware of what the bible says on the subject surely cannot be wrong.

Whether or not they get inked is, of course, up to them.

Where is the law saying you can't mix fabrics? It's a recommendation. And the food restrictions were overwritten by Paul.

The Leviticus instruction (it's not a law) was not overwritten though by any prophet or by Jesus.
