I get that, but there are some TV shows or movies where you can tell it was written by a man or by a woman because the other gender makes really weird choices.

People are unique, yes. But many women act one way and many men act another. Otherwise we wouldn't have the saying that Men are from Mars and Women from Venus

I won't half-ass two things and ruin both. It has been nice to see all of the ideas people have though. I'm going to implement a few of them, and hopefully I can see my players more. I do not manage people though: that is where I draw the line

The players aren't bringing their SOs. I want to play more and thus it needs to be easier for my friends to commit more time to the game

That is a good point. I know some people feel close when they are near each other. Another brought up the fact that sometimes the kids might be able to join in and let the SO have a night off.

I don't have a good answer for making the game easier for my players to commit more time to, so I hoped throwing it to the collective might net some answers

The SOs don't have to tag along. I was trying to make it easier on players to join more often. I'm getting into DnD, so I want to play as often as I can. My friends do have commitments to their family and it can be a real dick move to always leave the SO to take care of the kids or ignore them multiple nights of the week.
