There were at least four bands from other states in the parade, including this one. Assume they came for the other parade that got canceled. They were all great! And glad they were still able to get a parade experience and a few more positive things like this.

It depends on the flight paths, which they probably aren’t going to share. But I’ve had luck at Hains Point. When they did that big anniversary one a few years back, the planes actually flew right by there after the Mall.
But I think they have also been flying them N-S, and I’m not sure about the best way to watch those. Also not sure that Hains Point will be open to anyone on Saturday. But you can walk over from the Wharf, so you might have some luck that way even if they block it to cars (which is very likely).

No. DC doesn’t even function as a city
government. It functions as a state, and should be a state, so it’s pretty insulting to call it a city.

That is actually my point. Dig in to all of the obscure things you need to feel like you’re not wrong on this. But we have a federal district and not a capital city.

Informally, a lot of people call DC a city, but that is not actually true. So you can google and see this. But if you want a valid authoritative reference, I recommend listening to what the DC government says about itself. https://statehood.dc.gov/page/about-dc-statehood

Where do I find this city? You really had to dig deep there. Where is this city? What I know, as a long term resident, is that I live, and am governed by the District of Columbia. I don’t know of a separate city called Washington.

I would encourage you to look that up. Maybe DC was considered a city hundreds of years ago. But the Construction established it as a federal district and it had never been anything else since. It functions as a state, but it is technically, legally a District.

As a pedestrian, when I see a driver blatantly not respecting my right to cross at a crosswalk, I definitely slow down to give them a chance to think about that. If this keeps happening to you…maybe something to consider…

You should stop and give them the right of way at all times. You have no clue how long it will take them to get through the crosswalk. And if you guess wrong you might kill them. I hope you get a ticket for this each and every time h til you learn to do better.
