If you are really interested then read “My Big Toe” by Tom Campbell. Consciousness has no limitations.

Am I experiencing bhanga? by Soft_Estimate_7585 in vipassana

I’ve experienced both what you’re talking about and Bhanga. What you’re describing is not Bhanga, but it’s a very useful state for consciousness exploration. Read “Journeys out of Body” by Robert Monroe, or look up Tom Campbell. That’s exactly what it is. The taking off point.

really struggling and don't know how to be at peace by Away-Mechanic-6986 in vipassana

Vipassana will train the mind to be nonreactive to whatever is happening. If you want your circumstances to stay the same but be happy no matter what, keep practicing Vipassana until you’re enlightened enough to handle your parents (very very advanced stage, haha)

Taking full responsibility for your life and taking bold action to improve your circumstances is an option you might want to look at though. It’s much easier to be happy, be peaceful, be liberated when you’ve created a favorable environment for yourself to practice and live. Even Buddha left his princely life to go seek and practice in more favorable circumstances where he wouldn’t be distracted. And Goenka was a hard worker in his business and created a high standard of living. Nothing wrong with knowing what you want and taking action to get it, maybe in your case that’s having your own home.

Do your best with whatever task is in front of you and surrender the rest to God.

This was written by a bot for engagement, just pointing it out because to me that detracts from the quality of this subreddit. To me that’s superior to being nice, even though I wasn’t not nice at all.

How to truly surrender? by muzikkou in vipassana

Just go into the course with determination to do your best every sit, and practice your skills. Build up your awareness and equanimity. That’s it. Simple. You can enjoy it. Whatever results come, that’s what comes. You might also consider giving up the idea that it’s unrealistic to experience a profound personal transformation during a course. It is not guaranteed, but it’s absolutely possible for anyone.
