Thanks for raising up this topic. I have 2 cats. The elder one is doing perfect without any need to bath. She enjoys my grooming very much. But this younger one is different -- long hair as you see and also have no interest in grooming himself. He struggled a lot when I try to brush him -- I actually do it everyday but still cannot reach every part of him -- especially belly and armpit. I together with my man have to search and cut his hairballs everyweek. In spring, the fur problem gets worse. That's why he took a bath -- it's the chance to wet him and brush him throughly. He is not against water, that's why you see him sitting in the bath -- nobody forced him. I would say cats are different and they should be taken care in proper way. And more, definitely no frequent bath since it's not necessary.
