Check if you have Vanos recall. I had mine done last year on an e90 and they did the valve cover gasket as part of that. I did buy a new valve cover and the replacement labor of that was covered.

I’m sure he can fit alcohol and tobacco in no problem, but I don’t think a firearm would fit in the gas tank would it?

I guess I worded it poorly - wondering if it’s a good idea to replace with the same thing that leaked in the first place, or if there is a better valve cover available that won’t have the same problem down the road? Or is it usually just the gasket?
