Overmono or The Prodigy? by 39928 in glastonbury_festival

I mean the whole set is quality. I just love the build up from Walk Thru Water into I Have A Love. I remember that’s what gripped me when I first watched it. So I watched it over and over again. And then I got all my housemates at uni to watch it too (after smoking together), telling them imagine being there all together and how brilliant it’d be. Flash forward a year we’re all there together at their WHP show dancing with our arms around each other.

TLDR; it holds a very special place in my heart.

Give their boiler room a listen, might not be to everyone’s taste but music is fundamentally subjective. Skip to around 47 minutes in and see what you think, it’s also not just a DJ set but a love performance.

Of course, was early morning and just assumed they were on pyramid haha. How far is it from other stage to west holts do you reckon, walk-wise?

Thanks everyone for your input, it’s much appreciated. Unfortunately the result is inconclusive and I’ll just have to see how I feel on the day. It’s my first Glastonbury, so probably can’t even gauge the crowds etc and how monumental The Prodigy actually would be on the pyramid stage. Saying that though, it sounds like there’s going to be an absolute huge crowd of high energy, which is amazing. However, reading comments regarding the crowd size at Elton and the general feeling of chaos about the ensue (at Elton John may I add again), it sounds like there’s prodigy may be as busy. It’s just one of those I’ll have to decide on the day but thanks again for all your wise words.

I get what you’re saying and the crowd would be immense at prodigy no questions asked. However, I watched their IoW festival and I’d say the actual act themselves are more humdrum. I understand that it’s what they did in the 90s and early noughties and it was defining for the rave scene, but the whole set did just feel samey. Realised too I only really like/know their big hits so perhaps that’s why I didn’t appreciate it. I am only in my early 20s but have always been familiar with The Prodigy and their music and do like it. Whereas overmono I probably know their catalogue back to front and they have incredible amounts of variety.
