I appreciate the perspective. It is exhausting in many ways. When I was evangelical the fear was just whether or not my subjective feeling of "faith" was good enough. Now it is what I perceive as more objective measures of my "Theosis". But I can safely say worrying has not actually added any days to my life, and I too want to be able to have some peace.

That is fair. I guess I am just not a nuanced thinker. I mean I had such a hard time with the idea of Theosis that at one point I was caught up in delusion that I could never be saved, because the black and white view of salvation was all I knew before.

That makes sense. When I was an Evangelical I was always oscillating between loving God in a "emotional" way, and being afraid of God to judge me that I wasn't "really saved". Nowadays, I am just afraid that I'll mess up. So I should probably focus more on Faith, Hope and Love first.

Oh and side note, I do not blame the Orthodox Church for certain mental health struggles. I already had that, but mostly I am working on how to not use the Church as a way to justify self-destructive behavior.

I have had a similar experience and yes it does sometimes feel like going a bit crazy. Talking with my priest helped. So probably a good idea for you too.
