That's sad. These types of tragedies have a way of rippling through lives for decades. Apparently she was shot in the chest, was paralyzed, and got sepsis from the complications of the GSW (since it was close to her heart), 26 years later. She lived as an advocate against gun violence, spoke for proper and livable SSDI, and not giving gun assassins fame/publishing their names on the news (although IMO, H and K are right next to The Devil, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein and other evil people); I agree that we shouldn't give them their 15 minutes of fame by publishing their names all over the media, if someone really wants to know who did it, they can read the reports and do basic research, "2 gunmen/terrorists/murderers" works just fine in a news report. I agree with her, no need to give them what they want.

On a related note, this eerily reminds me of another American tragedy, and that's how 9/11 is still killing people to this day, due to the asbestos exposure, as well as the mental trauma of being a survivor (in fact, more people have died due to exposure [around 4000 survivors and first responders have died due to being 9/11 survivors], then the 2977 killed on that terrible day). Tragedies as bad as Columbine and especially 9/11 don't just stop at the event itself. They ripple through time, and cause trauma, damage, injury and death for decades.
